Hugh Jackman and his estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have been in constant contact since announcing their split last week.
“He’s spoken to Deb and they’ve seen each other,” a well-placed source told Page Six exclusively. “They speak pretty regularly.”
The insider emphasized that the couple “are always going to be friends and navigate this together. You just can’t be married for 27 years, share two kids and suddenly stop speaking.”
The “Wolverine” star, 54, and Furness, 67, shocked fans when they shared that they were separating after nearly three decades of marriage.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the two shared in a joint statement to People on Sept. 15.
“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
The estranged couple, who share son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18, stressed that their family “has been and always will be (their) highest priority.

“We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
That’s not to say the situation hasn’t been tough for them.
“It’s not always easy,” the source told us, “but they’re doing okay.”
Page Six exclusively reported that their split had been in the works for a while.
“It happened a while ago. Friends and family knew about it,” a separate source previously said, adding that their separation was “a long time coming” and Jackman was “devastated” by it.
Over the weekend, the “Greatest Showman” star was snapped without his wedding band while going for a stroll with pal Ryan Reynolds.
And days before their split was announced, Furness was spotted out and about in New York without her wedding ring on.
The former couple first crossed paths in 1995 while co-starring in the Australian mini-series “Correlli.”
Jackman confessed that it was love at first sight, despite Furness being 13 years older than him.
“I knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives,” the “Logan” actor said on the “Today” show in 2018.
The Emmy winner and the “Shame” actress tied the knot on April 11, 1996 — less than a year after they met.
