John Stamos says he accidentally snapped at Elizabeth Taylor for being in his “eye line” while filming “General Hospital” in the ’80s.
The “Full House” star recalled the moment during a Tuesday appearance on Sirius XM’s “The Jess Cagle Show,” saying, “[I] heard this rustling, and I couldn’t get through the scene.”
Stamos — who played Blackie Parrish on the soap opera from 1982 to 1984 — explained that he “couldn’t get to” the “emotional place” in order to play a scene in which his mother had died.
“I was f—king it up… and I heard rustling and I heard a pop like this and then I was like, ‘Get that old lady out of my eye line,’ and the old lady was Elizabeth Taylor.”
Stamos, 60, explained that the late actress — who had appeared on three episodes of “General Hospital” in 1981 as Helena Cassadine — had “popped a bottle of champagne in the director’s chair” while visiting friend and actor Tony Geary.
“There she is, in all her lavender- eyed glory, poised in a director’s chair, sipping champagne,” Stamos wrote in his newly released memoir “If You Would Have Told Me.”
“She’s there visiting Tony Geary and wants to watch me do a scene.”

Further detailing the moment, Stamos noted how “profusely” he apologized to the iconic actress following the outburst.
“I can’t believe I lost my s—t in front of Elizabeth Taylor,” he wrote. “My dad is going to kill me.”
“I mute my tantrum, apologize profusely, make some excuse about calling her old, then slither back to the set and continue the scene. This time, I cry my eyes out.”
Stamos managed to recover from the mishap, as he went on to star in various films and land his most famous role as Jesse Katsopolis in “Full House.”
