Joy Behar slams Queen Elizabeth after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis: ‘The poor guy’

Joy Behar shaded the late Queen Elizabeth II for not letting her son King Charles III ascend the throne earlier.

“Poor Charles,” the “View” co-host said during Tuesday’s episode following news of the British monarch’s cancer diagnosis, adding that he waited “so long” to ascend the throne.

“I mean, [Queen Elizabeth] was in the position for 70 years, you know, and the longest reign. I think that she could have used some term limits,” Behar continued.

“It’s like, why not step down and let Charles have his day in the sun?

“The poor guy, he finally gets to be king, and now he has an illness. That doesn’t seem fair. There’s something wrong about it.”

Charles, 75, had his coronation in May 2023 following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September 2022 at the age of 96.

His reign became the topic of conversation with Behar, 81, and her fellow co-hosts as they discussed how Prince Harry rushed to his father’s side after Buckingham Palace revealed his medical condition on Monday.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” a spokesperson shared in a statement. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

While officials didn’t disclose the type of cancer that Charles has, they added that he is scheduled for regular treatments and will postpone public duties for the time being.

Shortly after the announcement, Prince Harry jetted from Los Angeles to Heathrow Airport in London without his wife, Meghan Markle, or their two children.

Page Six was told Monday that the Duke of Sussex, 39, made a “quick visit” to Clarence House in the afternoon to see his father.

Behar concluded, “The poor guy, he finally gets to be king, and now he has an illness. That doesn’t seem fair. There’s something wrong about it.” AP

Sources previously told us that Harry had already been in contact with his dad before landing in the UK.

Charles appeared in good spirits Tuesday morning as he stepped out for the first time since the announcement alongside his wife, Queen Camilla.

The monarchs were photographed waving to supportive crowds while heading to Buckingham Palace.
