It’s an ode to a breakup.
Country singer Kacey Musgraves’ blissful romance with her poet boyfriend of two years, Cole Schafer, has come to an end, Page Six has learned.
Sources tell us that the relationship has been over “for at least a month,” and say that it’s all the buzz in Nashville, Tenn., where the former couple resides.
The couple has even stopped following each other on Instagram, it seems.
Musgraves, 35, and Schafer, 29, were first spotted together in June 2021, about a year after she announced her divorce from singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly, according to People magazine.
A few days later, the couple went Instagram-official and she was confirming her newfound love to the New York Times.
Their first meeting was in a crowded restaurant, where they locked eyes and, “he did not know who I was, which I loved,” she told the outlet that year.
She has been gushing about him ever since, particularly on social media.
On Jan. 5 she posted, “Happiest birthday to the brightest flame in my world. My deeper well, I love you… I can’t wait to see what this year brings to you.”
However, we’re told that Musgraves has been posting cryptic messages to her Instagram Stories, though she has yet to delete photos of her beau from her feed.
She also still remains on his Instagram posts — despite them both seemingly unfollowing each other.
A rep for Musgraves did not get back to us when we reached out and Schafer did not respond.
