Kate Middleton ‘working from bed,’ ‘already planning engagements’ after abdominal surgery: report

Kate Middleton is ready to get back to work after undergoing abdominal surgery, according to a new report.

A palace insider claimed to the Daily Express UK that the Princess of Wales is “back working from her bed” at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate as she prepares to return to public duties around Easter.

The source added that Middleton is already “planning engagements and speaking with her team” to prepare for her return.

However, Kensington Palace has maintained that the royal won’t step out in public until she’s fully recovered.

Middleton, 42, underwent surgery earlier this month. Although the reason for the surgery wasn’t disclosed, Page Six learned that it was a serious undertaking — but not related to cancer.

Despite the surgery being planned in advance, a source told us that the procedure was kept so secret that not even her closest advisers knew she would be going under the knife because she and her husband, Prince William, wanted to maintain privacy.

The couple’s three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, did not visit their mother at the London Clinic but are believed to have FaceTimed with her during the stay.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that the Prince of Wales, 41, and Middleton didn’t want to “disrupt” their kids’ routines by having them come to the hospital.

The duo reportedly decided it was best to “shield” their children “to prevent worry.”

Although Middleton didn’t have the joy of seeing her kids while she was recuperating in the hospital, she did receive a visit from King Charles, as he was having a surgery of his own to treat an enlarged prostate.

Entertainment Tonight also noted that Middleton is “thrilled” to be back at Adelaide Cottage with her kids and husband, who also has stepped back from his royal duties to aid Middleton in her recovery.

“She is making good progress,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson shared Monday. “The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well-wishes they have received from around the world.”
