King Charles visits Kate Middleton in the hospital as he’s admitted for prostate surgery

Kate Middleton received a special visitor while she continues to recovery from abdominal surgery.

King Charles III visited the Princess of Wales at the hospital Friday after he was admitted for his own surgery to treat an enlarged prostate, People reported.

Buckingham Palace also confirmed in a statement that the 75-year-old King had entered the London Clinic for “scheduled treatment.”

“His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week,” the palace said.

King Charles — who acceded to the throne more than a year ago following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II — was diagnosed with the benign condition earlier this month after going for a check-up because he was experiencing symptoms.

He canceled engagements and was urged to rest ahead of the procedure.

The news of the King’s surgery was announced the same day Kensington Palace shared the shocking news that Middleton, 42, was undergoing a “planned” surgery to treat an abdominal issue.

“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” Kensington Palace said in a statement, adding that Middleton would be “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

Prince William has been visiting his wife in the hospital while she recovers and also canceled some of his public duties so he could help her recover when she returns home.

A source previously told People that, while Middleton kept her surgery under wraps until it already was completed, King Charles felt he needed to share his news to avoid people assuming the worst about the monarch’s health.

“It was sensible to be more open about it, as otherwise, people might have thought the worst,” a palace insider told People.

The monarch also felt compelled to share the information about his prostate because he wanted to inspire other men to consult their doctors.

Like Middleton, Charles also canceled some of his public engagements to give him time to rest and recover.
