Lindsay Lohan’s father, Michael Lohan, revealed that he had an “aggressive” skin cancer lesion removed from his hand on Wednesday.
Speaking with TMZ, Michael explained that he has been battling squamous cell carcinoma for about four years and “recently had a suspicious lesion on my hand” that prompted doctors to do a biopsy.
However, by Tuesday night, his doctors told him he needed to get the patch removed as soon as possible. The 63-year-old explained that the spot had “deep roots,” but that they were thankfully able to remove it all.
Due to the “aggressive” nature of his cancer, the father of four has to be monitored closely as it is likely that it will come back.
Michael also took to Instagram Wednesday to post a photo of the surgery site, captioning it, “Never be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed, you endured the pain, and God has healed you.”

According to the outlet, Lindsay was not informed about the surgery because Michael did not want to worry the actress — who welcomed a son in July 2023 — or impact her work.
Michael’s oldest son, Michael Jr., was the only one of his children who knew about the procedure.
Page Six reached out to Lindsay, 37, for comment but did not immediately hear back.
In 2011, Michael underwent a procedure to have growths removed from his colon amid a colon cancer scare.
Speaking with the Daily Mail at the time, he revealed that he had a “scare” with skin cancer in 2010.
“I had a skin cancer scare last year and they cut it out and it never came back, thank God. My body is fighting things off pretty well.”
