June “Mama June” Shannon’s oldest daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, has died following her battle with stage 4 cancer. She was 29.
“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” the reality TV matriarch announced via Instagram Sunday.
“She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her,” Shannon continued.
“We will will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today. We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.”
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson also mourned the loss of her sister on social media.
“This is one post I wish I didn’t have to make 💔 Last night we all surrounded Anna with love & let her know it was okay to go. Unfortunately around 11pm Anna took her last breathe,” the 18-year-old shared on Instagram alongside a family photo.
“Anna was in so much pain last night but now as a family we all know she is at peace now. I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken. Watching my 29 year old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy.”
The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alum added that she wished her “fighter” sister would have been able to see her graduate college.
“But i know you will forever cheer me on in heaven!” Thompson continued. “We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever. And i promise to always make sure to celebrate our birthday like you never left! The sky looks a little bit different today. We will always love you Anna 💔.”
Mama June’s second eldest daughter, Jessica Shannon, also remembered Cardwell in a heartfelt tribute.

“It’s hard to think that my sister is gone she was so young and had a bright future ahead of [her]. She will always be with us and we love and miss her already !!” she captioned a similar group shot.
“Y’all keep our family and them two sweet baby of hers in your prayers !! Anna I love you and just know we got Katilyn and Kylee for you they will be taken care of❤️💕🥺🙏🏻.”
The tragic news of Cardwell’s death comes one day after June, 44, asked fans for prayers amid her daughter’s battle with the terminal disease.
“I just want to let y’all know that some things have changed in our [lives] over the last few weeks, things that are totally out of our control,” she said in a video message Friday.
Though the “From Not to Hot” alum said that the mom of two was “still with us,” she revealed that the family needed continued prayers as they were “going through this transition.”
In March, reports surfaced that Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma.
At the time, a source told TMZ that the cancer was found in her liver, kidney and lungs.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, 11, and Kylee Madison, 8.
