Man suspected of killing ‘Sandlot’ actor Marty York’s mom in her own home is in custody

The man suspected of killing “Sandlot” actor Marty York’s mother, Deanna Esmaeel, in her home has been arrested.

According to a FaceBook post made by the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel James Walter was taken into custody on Friday night in Curry County, Ore., in connection to Esmaeel’s death.

As Page Six previously reported, the sheriff’s deputy was found dead Thursday inside her home in Crescent City, Calif.

The following day, the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office where Esmaeel worked put out a public alert to track down her boyfriend, Walter — who legally changed his name to Edward Patrick Davies.

At the time, authorities had tracked down Walter’s vehicle, however, he was nowhere to be found.

Following the news of his mom’s death, York — who is best known for playing Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in the ’90s film “The Sandlot” — took to Instagram to share a special tribute in her memory and to ask for the public’s help with finding her alleged killer.

“This is the hardest post I’ll ever have to write but I found out from the sheriff department last night that my mother was murdered by a man she was seeing,” he captioned an Instagram post Friday that featured a snap of him and Esmaeel together.
