Matthew Perry’s ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, spoke out following the news of the actor’s death on Saturday.
“He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented,” she wrote via Instagram Monday.
The “Friends” star was found dead from an apparent drowning in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home. He was 54.
The literary manager, who was in a relationship with Perry from 2018 to 2021, went on to describe the late actor as a “complicated” man.
“While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known,” she added.
“No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.”
Hurwitz also reminisced about rewatching “Friends” with Perry ahead of the reunion special that premiered on HBO Max in 2021. The actor famously played Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom for 10 seasons.
“‘Fuck, I was so good!!!…See what I did there???’” she recalled Perry saying.
“We rewound and studied scenes,” she continued. “Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical.”
“Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace. Sincerely, Moll-o-Rama(…fication),” she concluded.
Perry had gushed over Hurwitz during their time together, calling her the “greatest woman on the face of the planet.”
The pair called off their engagement in June 2021 — a year after he got down on one knee.
“Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them,” he told People at the time. “I wish Molly the best.”
Meanwhile, others close to Perry have also shared messages of mourning following the news of his death, including his “Friends” co-stars.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc said in a statement to People Monday.
“There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” they continued.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Perry was survived by his parents, John Bennet Perry and Suzanne Perry Morrison, and five half-siblings.
