Mauricio Umansky on How Kyle Told Him She Wanted a Separation

'RHOBH' star Mauricio Umansky reveals how Kyle Richards asked for a separation in the 'Buying Beverly Hills' season two trailer.

Mauricio Umansky is seen sitting down for a tough conversation with his daughters, Sophia and Alexia Umansky, and his step-daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, in a sneak peek at the upcoming second season of his Netflix real estate series, Buying Beverly Hills.

Following weeks of episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which saw Kyle Richards, 55, opening up about their split and the moments that followed, Mauricio, 53, is sharing how Kyle asked for a separation with his children, who become understandably emotional at the thought of their parents’ decades-long marriage coming to an end.

“I had an amazing 26 years with your mom, an amazing 26 years. I wanted to do everything possible to just save it,” Mauricio begins.

According to Mauricio, Kyle approached him with her desire to separate and encouraged him to date other women.

“Your mom came and talked to me and she said, ‘I think I need space.’ She said to me, ‘Listen, the rules are that you go out, you date, you do whatever it is that you want to do. I’m not going to be asking what you’re doing, I don’t want you to be asking me what I’m doing. Like, we are separated,’” he tells his girls, who respond by acknowledging their breakup as “new terrain.”

“I need to have some time and a clear head. Maybe I’ll go spend a month in Aspen,” Mauricio continues.

“It’s so weird to be having these conversations,” Farrah, 35, replies.

As the girls wipe tears from their faces, Sophia, 24, notes that their lives have “changed so much.”

“[I] definitely could not have predicted where my life was gonna be one year ago in all aspects,” Farrah, who appeared to split from fiance Alex Manos in 2023, agrees.

“We only even found out that there was any issues like this a few months ago and now it just is like, things have changed so quickly,” Sophia cries.

Meanwhile, Alexia, 27, expresses compassion to her family, including Mauricio and Kyle.

“I’m sorry that we’re all going through this. I’m sorry for all of us. I’m sorry for you guys. I’m sorry for you,” she shares.

“For all of us,” Mauricio adds.

Buying Beverly Hills season two begins streaming on Netflix on March 22.
