Michael Phelps and his wife, Nicole Johnson, are expecting their fourth child together.
Johnson announced the exciting news on Instagram Monday, a day after the pair celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary.
The post featured a photo from each year of the pair’s marriage, including a snap of the two at the Baltimore Ravens game Sunday.
In the flick, the soon-to-be parents of four were all smiles as they waited on the sidelines, with Nicole putting her growing bump on full display in a tight black dress and cropped jersey.
“Happy Anniversary to my best friend, hubby and partner thru life ❤️ I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!” Johnson, 38, captioned the carousel.
“For those that are wondering… yes! we’re expecting our 4th Phelps in 2024 💙💙💙💙.”
While this is the first time the pair have confirmed their pregnancy, fans first suspected Johnson had a bun in the oven last month.
In late September, Phelps sparked pregnancy rumors after the Olympian shared photos of him and his wife on the sidelines of a University of Southern California football game.
Once again, the former model wore a form-fitted dress to the sporting event, showing her small bump.
The two — who share sons Boomer, 7, Beckett, 5, and Maverick, 4 — met in 2007 and dated on and off for years before finally tying the knot in 2016.
Yet just before their nuptials, Johnson got candid about how their three-year split from 2011 until 2014 proved to be the best thing for them.
“We both had a lot of growing up to do,” the former beauty queen told Cosmopolitan at the time. “We both had a lot of learning about ourselves to do.”
During the years they were apart, the legendary swimmer, 38, found himself making headlines for reasons other than his swimming accolades.
“There were definitely times, and I think Michael would say the same thing, where I hated him,” she continued. “We were at odds at times. Even when I loathed him, there were still times when I was like, ‘God, I wish I was with him.’

The pair often shares glimpses into their home life on social media, posting everything from family trips to their boys’ academic achievements.
In 2021, the two talked to People about how their own upbringings have shaped their perspectives on parenthood.
“As a kid, I always wanted to have dinner as a family but with my parents separated, that didn’t happen often,” Phelps told the outlet. “I love how we have dinner every night together at the same exact time.”
The pair have found that dinner time is the perfect opportunity to teach their kids about the importance of expressing themselves and sharing their feelings.
“They talk about their emotions,” Phelps, who has been very open about his own mental health struggles, added. “It gives me a lot of hope. I just want them to be as prepared as they can be.”
