Nicki Minaj bars Kanye West from releasing ‘New Body’ collaboration: ‘That train has left the station’

Nicki Minaj shut down Kanye West after he sought permission to release their long-awaited collaboration “New Body” on his forthcoming album.

After West, 46, tweeted a screenshot Thursday of a text message he had sent Minaj, 41, asking her to clear her verse for the song, the “Super Bass” rapper took to Instagram Live to respond.

“Chile, that train has left the station,” she said. “OK? No disrespect in any way.”

Minaj noted that she “just put out a brand-new album” last week, “Pink Friday 2,” so she has no interest in also releasing “New Body,” which leaked online in 2019.

“Why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys,” she told her followers.

West, Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign first recorded “New Body” in 2018 for the “Gold Digger” rapper’s album “Yandhi,” which he ultimately scrapped.

Its lyrics celebrate plastic surgery and were rumored to be inspired by West’s then-wife, Kim Kardashian, who helped coordinate Minaj’s feature on the track in an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

In 2019, West teased that he was reworking the sexually explicit song for his gospel album, “Jesus Is King,” but Minaj said at the time that she had already written “three different verses” for it and was no longer “seeing eye to eye” with her collaborator.

As a result, Ye once again ditched the tune due to the creative differences between him and the “Starships” rapper.

However, after Minaj’s verse from the leaked demo went viral on TikTok in 2020, she asked West to reconsider releasing it.

“The public adored ‘New Body,’” she explained to Hot 106. “‘New Body’ is the biggest hit record that never came out. … Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away.”

West did not publicly respond at the time, but earlier this week he revealed his plan to include the track on his and Ty’s imminent joint album, “Vultures.”

During a listening party in Miami Monday, the antisemitic artist played what sounded like the 2018 version of the song — including Minaj’s verse — to an audience of fans and celebrities.

West has yet to reveal the release date for “Vultures,” which may now be delayed after the “Barbie World” rapper blocked “New Body” from being included.
