Oliva Munn ‘grateful’ for the support she’s received since revealing breast cancer diagnosis

Oliva Munn is thanking her friends and fans for their support in the wake of her shocking announcement that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star, 43, revealed Wednesday that she recently underwent four surgeries, including a double mastectomy.

“I’m really grateful for all the love and support I’ve received about my diagnosis that I shared yesterday,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, less than 24 hours after getting candid about her cancer battle.

Kerry Washington, Taika Waititi, Jenna Dewan, Leslie Mann and Jo Koy were among the celebs who sent well wishes to the “Attack of the Show!” alum.

“Beautifully said. Sending you and your family love ❤️,” Reese Witherspoon wrote, while Amy Schumer added, “You are a warrior and I love you. Thank you for sharing this ❤.”

Julianne Hough chimed in, “Thank you for sharing you brave and courageous soul. Saving lives 💕.”

Munn, who has been dating comedian John Mulaney since 2021, said she initially tested negative for the BRCA gene — the most well-known gene to cause cancer — in February 2023.

Her mammogram also came back clear. However, her doctor opted to calculate her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score as a precaution.

“The fact that she did saved my life,” Munn wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement, noting that her lifetime risk was 37 percent.

Her “guardian angel,” OB/GYN Dr. Thais Aliabadi, eventually ordered a biopsy that confirmed she had luminal B cancer in both breasts, which is an “aggressive, fast moving cancer.”

“I went from feeling completely fine one day, to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next,” she wrote.

“I’m lucky. We caught it with enough time that I had options.”

The actress thanked her friends and family, namely Mulaney, for their ongoing support.

“I’m so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect,” she went on.

“For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”

The couple, who most recently attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party over the weekend, started dating after the “Saturday Night Live” alum, 41, split from ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler.
