God, it’s brutal out here.
Olivia Rodrigo was caught awkwardly ignoring a fan who asked her to be his prom date in the middle of a public event.
The unidentified teenage boy surprised the Grammy winner with the promposal last Thursday at YouTube Space in Los Angeles ahead of the premiere of her “Vampire” music video.
“You wanna, like, go to prom with me?” he asked Rodrigo while handing her a red rose in a viral video shared on TikTok.
“Oh, my God! I’ve always wanted to go to prom,” the “Drivers License” singer, 20, responded. “Give me your number.”
“Wait, are you serious?” the high schooler, visibly shocked, asked before Rodrigo suddenly snubbed him and walked away to take pictures with other fans.
The teen then pushed his way through the crowd to approach the “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” star again, this time with his cellphone in his hand to get her contact information.
However, as soon as she noticed his phone, she looked straight ahead and kept walking.
“This is the most painful thing I’ve ever seen,” one TikTok user commented on the video.
“THE WAY SHES IGNORING HIM AT THE END HELPPPP,” another wrote.

“Saying give me your number then ignoring him is foul 😭😭😭,” a third added.
“Damn. She changed her mind INSTANTLY😂,” another viewer commented.
The interaction occurred as Rodrigo kicked off the next era of her music career following the breakout success of her 2021 debut album, “Sour.”
Her sophomore effort, “Guts,” is scheduled to be released on Sept. 8.
Fans have speculated that the record’s lead single, “Vampire,” is about Rodrigo’s ex-boyfriend Zack Bia, whom she briefly dated last year.
