Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson gives birth, welcomes third baby with husband Andrew East

Shawn Johnson’s brood just got bigger!

The Olympian and husband Andrew East welcomed their third child via cesarean section on Tuesday, they confirmed in Thursday’s edition of their FamilyMade newsletter.

The pair — who chose not to find out the sex of the baby before the birth — did not reveal the name or whether they had a boy or girl.

“Our baby is healthy and that’s all we can ask for,” Johnson wrote in the newsletter.

“You spend your whole pregnancy wondering how you could possibly love another baby just as much as your first two and then in an instant your heart expands and basically triples in size, it’s incredible,” she continued. “Being a mom is truly my favorite thing.”

The former gymnast, 31, revealed her pregnancy news while on a Greek babymoon in July.

“Swipe for a surprise,” she captioned vacation snaps at the time, directing her Instagram followers to her budding belly on the second slide.

As for East, the retired NFL player posted clips of his wife showing him positive pregnancy tests over the years.

“Here we go again,” the 32-year-old wrote.

He and Johnson previously welcomed daughter Drew, now 4, and son Jett, now 2, in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

The couple, who have been married since 2016, explained in a YouTube video that they “tried for months and months and months” to conceive baby No. 3, starting in July 2022.

“We got a taste of that emotional rollercoaster of trying and hoping and thinking even we weren’t pregnant and being disappointed when we found out we weren’t,” East told viewers.

When they found out they were expecting, the duo felt “somber” because Johnson believed the little one would be their “last.”

She said, “I feel like our family is complete.”

However, the “Dancing With the Stars” alum clarified in a July interview with E! News that she is open to adopting in the future.

“I’m up for helping babies around the world who need families,” she explained. “I think we can have that conversation later if that’s something we want to talk about. But this will be our last pregnancy.

“I’ve been so lucky to be able to get pregnant and carry babies. But three C-sections will take a toll,” Johnson continued. “And I want to be able to be that mom that’s chasing my children around for years and years and years.”

The Olympian retired from her gymnastics career in 2012, while East hung up his football helmet for good in 2022.
