Prince Harry surprises fans at ‘Heart of Invictus’ screening, pokes fun at audience

Prince Harry left fans speechless after he showed up to a special screening of his upcoming Netflix docuseries, “Heart of Invictus.”

The Duke of Sussex, 38, beamed from ear to ear as he walked into the Chula Vista, Calif., premiere on Monday and his appearance was reportedly unplanned.

“It’s nice of you to dress up for the occasion,” Harry joked with the audience. “Suits and ties — no? I just want to say a huge thank you for coming out tonight.”

With no press in the room, Harry shared a special moment with moviegoers supporting his latest project.

After the screening, two pals rushed to social media to gush over the duke who stopped to take a selfie with them.

“Last night I was invited to a special screening of Prince Harry’s new documentary series ‘HEART OF INVICTUS,’ at AMC CHULA VISTA, CA and got to meet the Duke of Sussex, Harry Himself,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a snap of them with Harry.

“As a military spouse, USO volunteer, and someone who is passionate about military advocacy this event was one of a kind and I am so thankful for the experience.”

“Harry is every bit as gracious in person as in the media in his mission to support veterans across the world,” she added. “Thank you USO, thank you Netflix!”

In another video shared on Instagram, the friends wrote, “When it’s a random Monday night and Prince Harry crashes the premiere of his show in random Chula Vista.”

“What a show, what a man, what a special surprise! #heartofinvictus,” she added.

The show’s premiere comes just days ahead of the 2023 Invictus Games, which will kick off in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Sept. 9.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are both expected to attend the games in what will mark their first joint appearance in Europe since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in Sept. 2022.
