Prince William praises Kate Middleton’s art skills after photo editing scandal

Prince William is singing his wife’s praises amidst their photo editing scandal.

The Prince of Wales gave Kate Middleton a sweet shout-out while spending time with a group of children at the grand opening of the WEST Youth Zone in West London on Thursday.

In a video shared by Sky News, he kindly turned down a compliment by an onlooker who said they were “impressed” with his cookie decorating skills.

“It’s really not impressive work,” he replied as he garnished a cookie with purple frosting. “My wife is the arty one.”

He also said his children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — “are artier” than he is.

His comments come as he, Middleton, 42, and Kensington Palace face harsh criticism after she shared an edited photo of herself with their kids on Instagram over the weekend.

The seemingly innocent photo showed the Princess of Wales joyfully sitting in a chair with her kids surrounding her. Everyone looked happy with huge grins painted across their faces.

She shared the snapshot as fans grew concerned about her whereabouts following her abdominal surgery in January.

“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,” she captioned the post. “Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”

Hours later, however, it was revealed that the photo had been modified. Top photo agencies subsequently issued a kill notice, which encouraged other entities to remove the picture from their platforms because it could not be trusted.

On Monday, Middleton apologized for the alarm she caused.

Kensington Palace did not release the original Mother’s Day snapshot.

It has since been reported by the Telegraph that the Duchess of Cambridge feels “awful” about the situation.

The questions surrounding the photo have only strengthened internet sleuths’ theories about Middleton’s health following her surgery.

Although her rep told Page Six she is “doing well” as she recovers from her operation in private, people have speculated that she is gravely ill or even in a coma.

“There’s a non-zero chance she died 18 months ago. They might be ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’–ing this situation,” he joked.

He added, “I’m not saying it happened! I’m saying it’s non-zero until proven otherwise.”

“Until you see her with a copy of today’s newspaper.”
