Rapper Killer Mike booked for battery after citizen’s arrest at Grammys 2024

Rapper Killer Mike was booked on a misdemeanor battery charge following his citizen’s arrest at the 2024 Grammys Sunday night, Page Six has confirmed.

He was released from jail on his own recognizance about an hour after he was booked, police records show. He has a court appearance set for Feb. 29, 2024.

The “Run” performer, 48, allegedly knocked down a security officer after he did not move away fast enough enough in the pouring rain.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows the aftermath of the alleged altercation in which other security personnel can be seen trying to stop Killer Mike from getting away.

Eventually, he was cuffed and taken into a security room at Crypto.com Arena, with a source telling the Hollywood Reporter his detainment was a “big nothing” and he would likely be released within a few hours.

Reps for the “Legend Has It” rapper didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Before the chaos ensued, Mike had accepted all three Grammys for which he was nominated this year.

He won best rap album for his sixth studio album, “Michael,” as well as best rap performance and best rap song for his hit “Scientists & Engineers.”

“DREAMS COME TRUE – IT IS A SWEEP! ☦️ #MICHAEL,” he shared on Instagram alongside a post of his acceptance speech.

While accepting one of the trophies, Killer Mike reminisced on making it big in the music industry following the release of his first album, “Monster,” in 2003.

“As a kid, I had a dream to become a part of music, and that 9-year-old is excitedly dancing and frightened inside of me right now,” he said.

Killer Mike last took home a Grammy in 2003 when his collaboration with OutKast, “The Whole World,” won best rap performance by a duo or group.
