Wendy Osefo appeared on Sunday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she opened up about her ongoing drama with Real Housewives of Potomac castmate Nneka Ihim.
In addition to reacting to claims of manipulating Candiace Dillard-Bassett, 37, and not knowing Lebe Iwu, Wendy, 39, took aim at Nneka’s “dangerous” on-screen antics, slamming her for “weaponizing” the Nigerian culture she’s so proud of and accusing her of “xenophobic” behavior.
“I think it’s really unfortunate,” Wendy began of her situation with Nneka on the December 17 episode of WWHL. “When I came on the franchise four years ago, I really had pride in being the first Nigerian Housewife, and my culture is something I hold near and dear to my heart. But just with her, the rhetoric she’s been using and the way she’s been weaponizing it is really dangerous, and a lot of the conversation around what she is alleging, that is not true, is really xenophobic.”
“So that’s where it gives me paucity because there comes a time when there’s fun shade, and then there comes a time when it crosses a line and things become dangerous and that’s where it is,” she added.
Then, when a fan wanted to know how she felt about Ashley Darby, 35, seemingly starting the drama with Nneka before agreeing with Gizelle Bryant, 53, amid witchcraft accusations against Wendy’s mom, Wendy said that regardless of Ashley’s involvement, there was no getting around her issues with Nneka.
“It still would’ve happened because I still think there was an agenda prior to coming in. However, I don’t want to give too much away, but I believe Ashley should be held accountable, and I have some questions for her, and comments, at the reunion,” she teased.
Regarding her supposed manipulation of Candiace, Wendy denied any such thing.
“Myself and Candiace have really strong personalities so you can’t really manipulate us,” she stated. “But what I found very odd was that every time she has an issue, it’s always me. It seems like she goes out of her way to always target me.”
As for the suggestion that she’s claimed not to know Lebe, Wendy clarified that she never actually said she didn’t know her.
“What is said was, Candiace said, ‘How old is Lebe?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. That’s my sister’s friend.’ And so I never said I didn’t know her,” Wendy noted.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Wendy was asked what she knows about Mia Thornton’s new man.
“I don’t know anything about him about him,” she confirmed. “I’ve only known things she’s said when we were at BravoCon and then another time we were together. Other than that, I don’t know anything. So that’s it.”
