Don’t ask Robert De Niro to change a diaper.
The “Goodfellas” actor, 80, admitted he doesn’t do the “heavy lifting” when it comes to raising his 5-month-old daughter, Gia Virginia.
“It doesn’t get easier,” he told the Guardian in an interview published Sunday when asked about being a father of seven.
“It is what it is. It’s OK. I mean, I don’t do the heavy lifting. I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important,” the movie icon added, referencing his 45-year-old partner, Tiffany Chen.
When the journalist asked whether he enjoys fatherhood, the “Heat” star responded, “Of course I do. [I enjoy] all of it.
“With a baby it’s different [than] with my 11-year-old. My adult children. My grandchildren. It’s all different.”
“I don’t talk to the adult children the way I talk to my baby or the way I speak to my 11-year-old, though she’s pretty smart,” he continued.

De Niro and Chen, who were first linked in 2021, welcomed their first child in April.
At the time, the twice-divorced Oscar winner was already a father to six children: Drena, 52, and Raphael, 46, with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott; twins Julian and Aaron, 27, with former girlfriend Toukie Smith; and Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11, with ex-wife Grace Hightower.
The “Irishman” star nonchalantly revealed he had added another baby to his brood while chatting with ET Canada in May.
When the reporter called him a “father of six,” De Niro quickly chimed in, “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.”
Later that month, Gayle King revealed baby Gia’s name and first photo on “CBS Mornings” on behalf of De Niro and Chen.
“They both wanted this baby,” the TV personality said at the time.
“They’re over the moon. She was brought here in love. He’s very psyched about it,” she added.
Just three months after Gia’s arrival, De Niro suffered a major loss when his grandson Leandro passed away.
The 19-year-old son of his eldest daughter, Drena, tragically died in July from a “toxic” combination of illicit drugs, the New York City Medical Examiner confirmed to Page Six.
“I’m deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo,” De Niro told us in a statement at the time.
“We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo.”
The A-lister was later photographed at Leandro’s funeral in New York City with a solemn look on his face in New York City.
According to the autopsy results, the teenager had fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine and cocaine in his system at the time of his death, which was ruled an “accident.”
