Rumer Willis revealed that her daughter’s name is a tribute to her dad, Bruce Willis.
While answering fan questions on her Instagram Story Tuesday, the new mom explained that her baby’s name, Louetta Isley, “is a mix of things I love.”
“I have always loved the name Lou so was thinking of that for both a boy or a girl but then when we found out she was a girl, we came up with Louetta,” she wrote atop a photo where she kissed Louetta.
She added, “We wanted to give her options and me and my dad’s favorite singers are Lou = Louie Armstrong, Etta = Etta James, Isley = Isley Brothers.”
Rumer, 35, had previously explained that the spelling of her daughter’s name came to be thanks to a spelling error in a text message.
“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo,” she explained to People in August. “Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta.”

She ended up loving the name and decided it was meant to be.
“I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy,” she said.
During the Instagram Q&A, Rumer also revealed that her favorite part about motherhood is simply when her daughter looks at her.
“Every moment with her is amazing, but when she smiles at me is the best feeling in the world,” she told a fan.
Rumer and her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, welcomed Louetta in April after debuting her baby bump six months prior.
Two months after her birth, Rumer shared a photo of Bruce, 68, as he proudly cradled his only grandchild in his arms.
“Seeing my father hold my daughter today was something I will treasure for the rest of my life,” she sweetly captioned the picture.
“His sweetness and love for her was so pure and beautiful. Papa I’m so lucky to have you and so is Lou.”
“Thank you for being the silliest, most loving, coolest Daddio a girl could ask for.”
Bruce was forced to retire from acting in March 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, which affects one’s cognitive skills.
Nearly a year later, his family revealed he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
