Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s former Bel Air, Calif., estate has undergone some drastic changes that have left “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fans upset.
Entrepreneur Amanda Frances — who purchased the property in January 2022 — has been documenting her family’s renovations on social media, leading Bravo viewers to leave cruel comments on her page.
The vitriol prompted Richards, 54, to defend Frances, 38, publicly and tell her fans to “be respectful” of the new owners.
Although the self-made financial adviser dropped $6.1 million for the expansive pad, it’s clear her family felt it needed some updating.
Frances shared a time-lapse video over the first year and a half of renovations, which included gutting the entire grand foyer.
Video shows her husband slamming a sledgehammer into the original black-and-white tile before showing the room completely dismantled.
The couple replaced the tile with hardwood flooring and removed the staircase, replacing it with a more modern version with a wrought-iron railing. They also added a more modern-looking chandelier.
“WHAT A JOURNEY,” she captioned the video on Aug. 6.

In another video posted on Aug. 24, Frances showed two of her children with mini hammers attempting to take down a bathroom, walk-in closet and bedroom.
The result, which has been dubbed the “Unicorn Princess Suite,” axed miniature black-and-white tiles from the bathroom and had them replaced with a mosaic look.
The bathroom storage area was also replaced with an updated baby pink piece and white countertop, and the shower was completely transformed into an updated shower-tub combination with subway tiles and brass fixtures as well as a planned glass door that hadn’t yet arrived at the time of Frances’ post.
The updated walk-in closet features what appear to be custom built-ins with plenty of storage and shelves for knickknacks.
“It, honestly, might be my favorite room of the house,” she wrote.
“(And yes, we are still waiting for the shower doors… and a few other things, but we are getting there. Renovation, as anyone who has done it knows, is certainly not for the faint of heart. It will test you.).”
Richards even told the self-described “thought leader” she had done a “beautiful job” on the renovations and wished her and her family a lifetime of “beautiful memories.”
