Shannen Doherty recalls heated fight with Jennie Garth on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ set: ‘She lost it on me’

Shannen Doherty recalled getting into a heated argument with her “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star Jennie Garth over a prank.

While chatting with her former castmate Brian Austin Green on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast Monday, Doherty began, “[Jennie] was doing, she was calling it ‘Pants Down Day’ where she would pull the pants on some of the crew members in a funny way and some of them were getting pretty annoyed with it.”

“And then I reversed it and I said, ‘Skirt up day.’”

“And she always wore the men’s Calvin Klein boxer shorts under her clothes. So I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. And so I did ‘Skirt Up Day’ and oh, my God, she lost it on me and I was just not in the mood to back down,” Doherty, 52, continued.

Green — who played David Silver on the series — recalled the fight, remembering he and their co-star Ian Ziering rushed to intervene.

“I remember at one point when there was a fight out front and Ian and I were there,” the “Dancing with the Stars” alum said. “And so, we were the two that stepped into, kind of, the middle of it to keep it from escalating.”

Green, 50, later added there was always onset tension between the female cast members — also consisting of actress’ Tori Spelling and Gabrielle Carteris — which he explained as “not an easy situation to watch.”

“I remember it got really rough and competitive for you all,” he added.

Doherty played Brenda Walsh on the hit TV show from 1990 until 1994 when she was booted off amid personal woes.

“Towards my last season, I was in a really horrible marriage, and there were things that were transpiring in that marriage that made it really hard for me to consistently be on time for work,” she told her co-star Jason Priestley, who played her twin brother Brandon Walsh, on her podcast in January.

“I know that that became a very big problem for the rest of you, as it should be because if everyone else is on time and you are waiting for one person it sucks,” the “Charmed” alum said, explaining how her co-stars were forced to “work longer hours” because of her lateness.

Doherty married Ashley Hamilton in 1993 but they called it quits a year later due to his addiction struggles.

“I didn’t even want to leave the house because I was scared that [Hamilton] would go and get drugs,” she told Priestley.

Doherty — who is battling stage 4 breast cancer — further said her father was also “super sick” at the time, but she failed to open up about the severity of his condition to producers and the cast.

“I wish that I would have known more about what was happening in your personal life at the time because I could have hopefully managed it with more compassion and more caring, but we only knew what we knew,” Priestley, 54, responded.

The “Heathers” actress said she doesn’t “blame” the cast for not knowing what was happening behind the scenes of her life, though she wishes producers would’ve asked more questions before deciding to write her character out of the show.

“I sort of wish I would have been sat down and sort of looked at and said, ‘Listen, the end result is going to be this, you are going to get fired and none of us are willing to put up with it anymore and I understand that you have an issue in your personal life, but that also can’t bleed into work. You have to get your s–t together!’”

Doherty previously got candid with her former castmates about her past after reuniting with them on Fox’s “BH90210” series in 2019.
