Shannon Beador says she ‘intends to be open, honest and authentic’ about DUI a month after hit-and-run arrest

Shannon Beador has spoken out for the first time since getting arrested for DUI and hit-and-run in Newport Beach, Calif.

“I know it’s been a while since I posted and there’s been a lot of talk about everything that’s happened recently,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, 59, said via Instagram on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately right now, I’m not in the position to comment but there will be a time when I can and I intend to be open, honest and authentic. Right now, I’m focusing on getting healthy, getting back to myself and walking Archie.”

While Beador previously stayed quiet about the incident, her attorney, Mike Fell, shared a statement with Page Six two days after the Sept. 16 arrest.

She told her fans that she intends “to be open, honest and authentic.”

“I spent quite a bit of time with Shannon yesterday. She is extremely apologetic and remorseful,” he said at the time.

“We will be awaiting the official information on this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”

Some of Beador’s closest friends and Bravolebrities have also shared their reactions and snippets of information.

Her close friend Jeff Lewis confirmed that Beador had been “injured” in a “car accident,” but he didn’t specify what exactly went down.

The radio personality also divulged that Beador is “entering counseling this week,” but clarified that he doesn’t think she’s an alcoholic.

“I think, as her close friend, I think she’s going through a lot of personal struggles right now, and I think that she probably has been leaning on alcohol, but I don’t believe she’s an alcoholic,” he said on Monday’s episode of his SiriusXM show, “Jeff Lewis Live.”

Beador’s “RHOC” co-star and longtime friend Tamra Judge got emotional while talking about Beador’s arrest and admitted she “didn’t think it was true” at first on Monday’s episode of “Two Ts in a Pod” with Teddi Mellencamp.

“I feel like I’m going to throw up,” she said. “I talked to Shannon yesterday, she didn’t say a word to me — nothing.”

Judge claimed that Beador told her she had a “rough couple of days,” but she never went into detail.

Beador made headlines last month after she was arrested for driving while intoxicated and clipping a house, according to an arrest report obtained by Page Six.

Page Six shared exclusive photos of the crash site which showed a torn-apart planter, an uprooted bush and several pieces of what what appears to be her vehicle.

After Beador drove into the curb and clipped the Newport Beach home, she reversed her car and continued driving off before parking her car in the middle of the street.

Police found the Bravolebrity walking her Golden Retriever while inebriated. She was subsequently booked on two misdemeanors — hit-and-run and DUI alcohol.
