Sherri Shepherd lends Kelly Rowland ‘gorgeous’ dressing room after ‘Today’ show incident

Kelly Rowland found comfort at “Sherri.”

On Tuesday, Sherri Shepherd shared a clip of her successful interview with the former Destiny’s Child member, but fans couldn’t help but comment on the fact that the talk show host must have given her a “better” dressing room to get her to stay following her abrupt departure from the “Today” show last week.

“I guess her dressing room was acceptable,” commented one Instagram follower, prompting the “30 Rock” alum to respond from her personal account, writing, “oh we gave her a gorgeous room!❤. It is Kelendria Rowland🔥🔥🔥.”

The pointed comment came after Page Six broke the news that the former Destiny’s Child singer walked off the “Today” show after receiving sub par accommodations. The Sherri Show/Youtube

Page Six broke the news on Feb. 16 that Rowland, 43, walked off the set of “Today,” where she was slated to serve as a guest host with Hoda Kotb, because her “dressing rooms weren’t up to par,” sources said.

“Kelly and her team were not happy. They did not like the dressing room, so they decided to pull her off the show, leaving Hoda without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour,” a source familiar with the situation shared with us.

We heard the “Mea Culpa” star and her team played a dramatic game of “musical dressing rooms” before inquiring about a green room on a different floor; however, Jennifer Lopez already had occupied the space.

We’re told “Today” show producers offered Rowland several other options, including multiple talent dressing rooms and larger utility makeup and hair areas.

“They didn’t want that. [The show] basically offered up as much as possible, but they weren’t happy with it, so they walked and they left,” the insider said.

Fortunately for Hoda, singer Rita Ora happily stepped in for Rowland and made herself at home in one of the Rowland-rejected rooms.

The “For You” songstress, 33, later confirmed the last-minute switch-up, sharing on Instagram that she had “two minutes to prepare.”

“Thank you @hodaandjenna for asking me to co-host the show…” she wrote, adding that everyone at “Today” was “so lovely and kind.”
