Sophie Turner leaves NYC hotel after suing estranged husband Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner was spotted for the first time in New York City since suing her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, for the return of their two daughters to her home country, England.

The “Game of Thrones” actress was photographed leaving the St. Regis Hotel in Midtown Manhattan Thursday after grabbing lunch with some friends.

The 27-year-old actress tried to stay under the radar in a black “Puss Casino” sweat set, a black hat and dark sunglasses.

Turner, who paired the laid-back look with a bright pink purse and sneakers, carried a water bottle and cell phone in her hand after enjoying lunch with some of her friends.

Despite keeping a low profile after Jonas filed for divorce on Sept. 5, Turner has been seen out and about in NYC in recent days, including at a dinner date with one of her husband’s exes, Taylor Swift.

On Thursday morning, the actress filed a bombshell “wrongful retention” lawsuit, claiming that the Jonas Brothers member refused to let her take their children back to England despite previously agreeing that they would grow up across the pond.

Turner claimed in the filing that the “wrongful retention” began Sept. 20.

According to the documents, the family had been living in England since April while Turner filmed the miniseries “Joan” and had even planned to move into their “forever home” by the end of the year.

However, when the “Cake by the Ocean” singer’s tour began in NYC on Aug. 12, the then-couple decided  “with hesitation” that Jonas would temporarily take the girls with him back to the States because he had more free time.

“The children would then at least be able to spend some time during the day with one of their parents until the Mother finished her filming commitments,” the documents explain.

Yet soon after, the pair’s marriage took an unexpected turn when the couple got into an argument on Aug. 15, which was Jonas’ 34th birthday, the filing states.

Just a few weeks later, the “Waffle House” singer decided to terminate their marriage, which the actress allegedly learned about “through the media.”

The pair allegedly met up after their separation to discuss their custody plans and Turner claimed she “reiterated” her desire to live with the girls in England — which Jonas allegedly did not agree with.

“The Father has possession of the children’s passports,” the documents claim. “He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother.”

Jonas’ attorney allegedly confirmed on Sept. 19 that the singer was not willing to return the passports, prompting Turner’s lawsuit.

However, Jonas has since denied via his rep that he ever “abducted” their children, calling her lawsuit a “harsh legal position” that goes against their “amicable co-parenting setup.”

He claimed that the pair met up last Sunday to discuss co-parenting and “less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK.”

“Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK,” his rep said.
