Taylor Swift puzzles fans with her first ‘1989’ vault track clue

She really is a mastermind.

Taylor Swift left her fans more puzzled than ever when she dropped a new set of clues for her upcoming vault tracks.

The Grammy winner, 33, who is in the midst of re-recording her first six albums, will drop “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” next month with a slew of never-before-heard songs.

“You can tell me when the *search* is over… if the high was worth the pain,” Swift captioned an Instagram post Tuesday, featuring lyrics from her smash hit “Blank Space.”

Fans were quick to decipher the clip, which hinted at a track titled “Lust!” or “Slut!”

“it probably is ‘slut!’ and references her being called a slut and that’s why she changed the vibes of 1989,” one Twitter user theorized.

“TAYLOR SWIFT DID YOU NAME A SONG ‘SLUT!’ ??????” another person chimed in.

Along with the “vault” animation — which fans became familiar with during her “Fearless” and “Red” re-recordings — the “Bad Blood” singer tapped Google to host an interactive puzzle search.

“TAYLOR SWIFT GIRL IM SO CONFUSED WITH THIS PUZZLE WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO US,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another person echoed the sentiment, writing, “taylor swift you have never made me more frustrated and confused than rn.”

In addition to clues like “Got A Haircut,” “Wednesday,” “Tokyo” and “Golf Club,” fans uncovered the word “Sagittarius,” which has Swifties convinced a collab with Nicki Minaj is on the horizon.

At the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards last week, Swift mouthed, “I love you,” to the “Anaconda” rapper, 40, before declaring, “That’s my favorite Sagittarius over there.”

Minaj also hinted at a possible duet when she tweeted, “Fighting the urge to say Sagittarius tingz right now so bad,” in response to the news that they were the only female artists with 100 Billboard Hot 100 entries in their careers.

Fans quickly took to social media to theorize about the clue, with one person pointing out in a TikTok video that a Sagittarius constellation was present in Swift’s “Lavender Haze” music video.

“as a Sagittarius, I will go insane thank you,” one fan commented on the clip, while a second person added, “I’m here for the delusion.”

A third fan pointed out, “nicki has a song called ‘barbie tingz’ one of her first bar (sic) is i’m a sag…”

Swift and Minaj infamously feuded on Twitter in 2015 after the “Cruel Summer” songstress was nominated for a VMA for Best Video, while the “Babrie World” rapper wasn’t.

When Minaj — born Onika Tanya Maraj — spoke out about the snub, Swift responded, “@NICKIMINAJ I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

The mom of one quickly denied that her comments were aimed at the “Shake It Off” singer.

“Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13,” she tweeted.

The beef appeared to have been squashed for good when Swift added, “@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on.”

Swift will drop “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in October.

The “Cats” star announced during her final Los Angeles Eras Tour show that she would drop “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on Oct. 27 — exactly nine years after the original album hit stores.

“There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I’ll just sort of show you,” she said, before revealing her new cover art.

The image featured Swift smiling while looking over her shoulder as seagulls flew in the sky.
