Taylor Swift’s Thanksgiving plans up in the air after ‘traumatic experience’ at Brazil Eras Tour concert

Taylor Swift’s holiday plans have been thrown into limbo after the loss of a fan at a recent concert, as well as chaos over the Brazil dates of her international Eras Tour.

“She doesn’t know her holiday plans yet,” a source told Page Six on Monday.

“The Brazil concerts… She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme. It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot. She is going to decide today.”

A source had previously told Page Six that Swift planned to come back stateside for Thanksgiving.

While there were online rumors she could see her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, for Thanksgiving, we are now told she will decide after Monday night’s concert.

Traveling “could end up being too much” or she “could want to come home” to be around people during this difficult time, says our source.

On Friday, 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides lost consciousness after being exposed to the high temperatures during Swift’s show in Rio de Janeiro and passed from cardiac arrest at the hospital.

The heat index had reached a record-breaking 139 degrees Fahrenheit.

Her Eras concert got off to a rocky start in Brazil when a fan died due to the extreme temperatures.

“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” Swift shared via social media late Friday night.

“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it,” she said. “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Swift has been quite shaken up as she is known for her extremely close ties with her fanbase.

Local outlet Folha de S.Paulo reported that fans weren’t allegedly given water while they waited in line to score a good spot in general admissions before the concert.

In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, a sweat-drenched Swift could be seen pausing her set to urge staff members to hand out water bottles.

“It’s very hot, so if somebody says they need water when it’s this hot they really need it,” Swift said as fans could be heard yelling, “We need water.”

Wadih Damous, the head of Brazil’s consumer protection agency, then told the New York Times that the government would investigate the show organizer’s Time for Fun.

Swift won’t be making it to Travis Kelce’s Monday night football game as she is performing a rescheduled show tonight.

Along with issues with the extreme weather in Brazil, another fan was stabbed while in town for the show during an attempted robbery.

Time For Fun, the Brazilian production company, released a statement on Saturday outlining new safety measures for the remaining shows.

Kelce had previously traveled to Argentina to watch his girlfriend perform.

Shortly after releasing her statement on the late fan, Swift made the decision to cancel Saturday night’s concert due to extreme heat. It was then rescheduled for tonight.

Her following show is Nov. 24 in Sao Paulo, meaning she would have just three quick days home.

Although Kelce recently flew to Argentina to watch her perform in Buenos Aires, he skipped out on the Rio de Janeiro concert as the Chiefs will be playing the Eagles in Vegas Monday.
