Miley Cyrus’ mom, Tish Cyrus, says she would’ve been a “better parent” if she started smoking weed while her kids were still young.
Speaking on her “Sorry We’re Stoned” podcast, Tish opened up about motherhood during a conversation with special guest and rapper Wiz Khalifa.
“I didn’t smoke pot when I had kids. I didn’t start smoking until I was, like, 46. And so I think I would’ve been a better parent if I would’ve smoked then,” Tish, 56, said.
“I think I would’ve been like, I don’t know, school projects, it would’ve felt more fun.”
Tish’s daughter Brandi Cyrus, who co-hosts the podcast, said her mom would’ve been “much more tolerant” had she had taken up weed earlier on in her life.
The Cyrus family matriarch explained that she usually takes a few puffs of a joint throughout the day.
“My decision-making is so much better now that I smoke weed,” she shared. “I do not by any means say that weed is for everyone, not at all. But for me personally, it has just been the best thing ever.”
Tish shares kids Miley, Braison, and Noah with her ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
She also shares Brandi and Trace, from a previous relationship. The country crooner adopted the pair after tying the knot with Tish in 1993.
Tish waited two years before filing for divorce in April 2022, after which both she and Billy Ray quickly moved on.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer got engaged to fellow musician Joanna “Firerose” Hodges that August. They tied the knot in October 2023.
Tish, meanwhile, got engaged to “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell last April before saying “I do” in August.

And the split wasn’t without its drama.
Late last week, several outlets claimed that Tish’s daughter Noah had allegedly dated her mom’s now-husband.
A report by People claims that Tish was allegedly aware of Purcell’s relationship with her young daughter, but she “never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this before they got married.”
A source for “Entertainment Tonight” further claimed that Tish didn’t warn Noah about her budding romance with the actor, leaving Noah “offended” by the entire situation.
Noah, who was recently spotted at Paris Fashion Week, also didn’t attend Tish’s wedding to Purcell in August 2023.
