“Congratulations” to Vans on this meaningful collaboration.
Mac Miller’s “Swimming” album is immortalized with own custom Vans sneaker design and fans are already scooping up the sentimental footwear.
The Mac Miller estate joined forces with popular surf sneaker brand Vans, which counts Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Harry Styles as fans, for a collaboration celebrating the fifth anniversary of the late rapper’s final album, which was originally released on August 3, 2018.
Miller died of an accidental drug overdose at 26 in September 2018.
The classic black Vans read “MAC MILLER 1992 TIL INFINITY” on the sole and include a yin and yang on the toe of the skater sneaker, mimicking the acclaimed rapper’s famous street style.
The yin and yang symbol was meaningful to Mac, who used it while promoting his “Swimming” and “Circles” albums.
The infinity symbol was also seen in his visuals, with fans on Reddit musing that it’s “a play on his circles album theme, swimming in circles, swimming in and out of balance.” Many of the “Self Care” rapper’s fans have received tattoos with the same design, which they believe represents “Being at peace with swimming in circles.”

A portion from the proceeds will be donated to the Mac Miller fund, which supports young musicians and gives them resources to explore their art, as well as addressing substance abuse issues in the music industry.
The vans are dropped on the “Congratulations” rapper’s website, which includes more merch with the yin yang motif — and are already nearly sold out.
Fans celebrated the collaboration as it was released on Thursday, although some took issue with the collection.
“Love the idea, but honestly I hate how people still trying to make a profit off Mac’s name 💔🕊️,” one tweeted.
Another fan explained, “pls read more carefully, it goes towards his estate aka his family who is also donating a percentage of the proceeds to underserved youth.”
Mac has been back in the news after the shocking death of “Euphoria” actor Angus Cloud, who looked incredibly similar to Miller.
The “Small Words” rapper, who was in an on again/off again relationship with Ariana Grande, died of an accidental overdose in his San Fernando Valley home.
