Everyone is talking about Sarah Brady.
The surfer ex-girlfriend of Jonah Hill made waves when she released a barrage of screenshots featuring alleged texts sent by the “Wolf of Wall Street” actor.
Hill, who was in a relationship with the California native from August 2021 until sometime in 2022, outlined his alleged problematic “boundaries,” which involved her not being allowed to surf with other men or share certain photos on Instagram.
Some suggested the messages showed the “Superbad” actor weaponizing so-called “therapy speak,” while others felt empowered to share their own stories about Hill.
Read on to find out everything you need to know about Brady.
She’s a surfer
Brady grew up in Encinitas, a beach city in the northern area of San Diego County, and began surfing at an early age.
Although she’s never surfed professionally, Brady’s social media presence makes it clear the sport is one of her passions.
“25 years ago today I came out of the womb and landed on a surfboard,” she captioned a throwback photo of herself in 2021, which showed her sitting on a surfboard as a newborn.
She is also a third-generation member of the San Onofre Surfing Club in San Clemente, Calif., and celebrated International Surfing Day with an Instagram post on June 18, 2023.
She has an environmental background
Brady studied the anthropology of climate change and human solutions at UC San Diego, according to her LinkedIn.
She also has a degree in cognitive science and sustainability from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
In March 2022, she helped launch the Women’s Outreach and Mentorship Program at the Changing Tides Foundation, which aims to “empower women to protect the planet and build a community connected to the sea.”
“We’ve had great success with this program in other countries such as the DR (pictured here) and I’m really excited that we’ll be offering an extended version in my hometown of Encinitas,” she captioned an Instagram post in March 2022.
“Grateful to be a part of this team of amazing humans putting together this program.”
Her ex Hill event hinted at her environmental work while promoting his Netflix movie “Don’t Look Up” on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in 2021.
“I’m not a political man, but I do believe in climate change and my girlfriend will kill me if I don’t read this,” he said at the time.
“I just will say, I don’t know how to deal with this stuff, it feels like Mount Everest. You can call or email your congressperson and ask them to support H.R. 794, the National Climate Change Emergency [Act]. That’s it, very easy.”
She is a law student in Hawaii
Brady relocated to Hawaii in August 2022 and began studying law at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in Honolulu.
Brady, whose studies are focused on environmental law, updated her Instagram bio to read, “surfer + law student with a film habit.”
She started dating Jonah Hill in 2021
It’s unclear how Brady and Hill met, however, they made their relationship Instagram-official in August 2021, posting a series of since-deleted beach photos.
“My whole heart 💓,” she captioned the snaps at the time.
The following month, the “You People” actor shared a photo with his then-girlfriend, writing, “❤️😍🥰 grateful for you @sarahhbrady.”
Throughout their relationship, they were often seen surfing together, which Hill claimed he picked up as a hobby in 2019.
“[I’ve] been terrified to surf my whole life,” he wrote in a since-deleted post.
“Totally random fear and at the same time always been a secret dream of mine. Turned out to be one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had.”
Hill also used the platform to shut down engagement rumors in February 2022.
“The rumors are not true,” the actor wrote, tagging the location as “Your Mom’s House.”
“I’m engaged. But not to my girlfriend. I am engaged to your mom. I know this is shocking but please respect our privacy at this time.”
They made their red carpet debut at the ‘Don’t Look Up’ premiere
Brady and her beau made their red carpet debut at the New York City premiere of his film “Don’t Look Up” in December 2021.
The pair certainly turned heads in their matching light blue Gucci suits, which they paired with matching turquoise loafers.
“Last night for the world premiere of @dontlookupfilm. Congrats jojo!! 🤍Not surprised you’ve helped create another amazing film for the world. I love you SO MUCH and was honored to be your date. Can’t wait to share this movie with all my loved ones,” she captioned a photo at the time.
Brady has since edited the caption to read, “Misogynist hiding in plaint (sic) sight 🙃 @dontlookupfilm.”
She has received support after sharing Hill’s alleged problematic text messages
In July 2023, Brady claimed Hill was “emotionally abusive” throughout their relationship.
The surfer posted dozens of text message exchanges allegedly between herself and Hill on her Instagram Story.
“Keeping it to myself was causing more damage to my mental health than sharing it could ever do,” she wrote of her decision to share the texts publicly.
In one text conversation, the comedian allegedly asked his then-partner to delete any surfing photos that showed her “ass in a thong” on Instagram.
When Brady told her she deleted “all the posts,” Hill allegedly said it was a “good start” but she didn’t “seem to get” his point.
“But it’s not my place to teach you. I’ve made my boundaries clear,” Hill’s alleged text message continued.
“You refuse to let go of some of them and you’ve made that clear and I hope it makes you happy.”
The “21 Jump Street” actor also allegedly told Brady he’s “not the right partner” for her if she wants to surf “with men,” “to model,” “to post pictures of yourself in a bathing suit” and “to post sexual pictures,” among other things he allegedly demanded she stopped doing.
Brady’s Instagram Stories inspired Nickelodeon alum Alexa Nikolas to come forward with an alleged interaction she had with Hill.
In July 2023, the actress claimed the “Get Him to the Greek” star kissed her without her consent when she was 16 years old at a Hollywood party hosted by Justin Long.
The “Zoey 101” alum, now 31, alleged that Hill approached her and offered her a cigarette.
“#JonahHill didn’t hand me the cig which I thought was weird and then as we walked back to the door I asked him for it and he said nothing but slammed me to the door and shoved his tongue down my throat,” Nikolas tweeted of her alleged experience.
Hill, for his part, told Page Six via his attorneys that Nikolas’ story was “a complete fabrication.”
The “War Dogs” star, who welcomed his first child with new partner Olivia Millar in June 2023, has not addressed Brady’s social media posts.
