EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood plastic surgeon reveals the celebs who he thinks have had wonky surgery secretly corrected

You can’t blame celebrities for having cosmetic tweaks.

No other profession is scrutinized on the way they look, act, move and even speak to the same extent.

But said procedures — from old-fashioned nose jobs to the more modern bum lifts — don’t always go according to plan.

And according to plastic surgeon to the stars Dr Gary Motykie, this happens a lot more often than we realise.

He has unique insight: A-listers often seek his help for corrective surgery, to fix the surgical mistakes of the past.

‘It’s not uncommon to see patients end up with a result that isn’t quite right,’ he told DailyMail.com.

He added that this is ‘especially if it is the patient’s first time going under the knife’, because they can be unaware of the common red-flags to watch out for.

Below, he has shared the six celebs he believes have had wonky procedures corrected…and some are particularly surprising…

KHLOE KARDASHIAN’S EVER-CHANGING BEHIND

Rumors were rife in 2014 when Khloe Kardashian showed off an extremely large behind

By 2022, the reality TV star had a dramatically smaller butt

Khloe Kardashian, pictured in 2009 and again in 2014, is believed to have had surgery to augment the size of her butt, said Dr Motykie. But recently she has gone for a much thinner look, which has likely involved yet more surgery to reduce her behind

Khloe Kardashian’s ever-expanding posterior has been a subject of celebrity gossip columns for years.

Dr Motykie believes the 39-year-old Kardashian may have undergone a botched procedure on her buttocks, which aimed to increase its size.

While images of the star in 2014 show a clearly enhanced shape, recent pictures reveal an oddly more natural look.

It’s not clear exactly what procedure she may have had, but popular interventions include fat transfer — where fat cells are extracted from other areas of the body, like the thighs, and injected into the buttocks.

Surgical options include the controversial Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), which can cause fatal complications in one in 100 cases.

The procedure involves liposuction to remove fat from one area of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, which is then injected in the buttocks to enhance its shape and volume.

Dr Motykie speculates that Khloe may have been a victim of complications – which are common.

Nerve damage, infection or fat necrosis — where fat cells die due to lack of oxygen —  are known repercussions which can develop a long while after the operation.

The most serious complication is fat embolism, where fat particles enter the bloodstream and travel to the lungs, heart or brain.

These can then cause blockages in smaller vessels, raising the risk of attacks or strokes.

This most commonly happens immediately after surgery.

Dr Motykie caveats that there is a small chance the latest change in shape may also be due to Khloe’s recent weight loss.

He added: ‘It’s most likely to be a bit of both. Perhaps it’s partially due to weight loss, as well as a reverse BBL – in which the previously injected fat is removed through liposuction’.

TARA REID’S BOTCHED BOOB JOB

Partygirl and American actress Tara Reid was left with loose and sagging skin around her stomach after having liposuction. She likely had a tummy tuck to reverse the issue

Famous partygirl and actress Tara Reid is perhaps one of the most well-known examples of cosmetic surgery gone wrong.

Known for her natural, girl-next-door look in the American Pie films, fans were shocked to see her breasts suddenly enhanced.

In 2007,  she stepped out in a bikini after having liposuction — revealing loose, or sagging, skin on her stomach — and a breast enhancement — which had left one breast larger than the other, and both sagging.

Liposuction is a procedure where fat cells are removed from a specific area of the body, like the stomach, but it can leave behind loose skin.

The American actress spoke about the procedures later, saying: ‘It looked like I got completely butchered up.

‘I had body contouring, but it all went wrong. My stomach became the most ripply, bulgy thing.’

But she was all smiles when she appeared again in 2010 wearing a two-piece bright green bikini in Las Vegas, with her breasts and loose skin issues resolved.

The then 34-year-old said at the time: ‘I’m relaxed. I’m a young woman with confidence… At the end of the day, I go to sleep knowing who I am.

‘I am happy with my life now, and I’d like to keep it this way.’

Recently, the 48 year-old slammed ‘body-shaming’ fans who claimed she looked ‘too thin’ — claiming a high metabolism was the reason for her slim figure.

LINDA EVANGELISTA’S NIGHTMARE FAT FREEZING OP

Linda Evangelista said she was left ‘brutally disfigured’ by a botched fat freezing procedure that left her with fat deposits under the skin all over her body (pictured left in 2017 after the procedure and right in 2023)

Dr Motykie says that, while well-known, the case of 90s fashion icon Linda Evangelista is perhaps the most extreme he’s seen.

The supermodel was left ‘brutally disfigured’ after a botched cosmetic procedure left ‘hard, numb bulges’ across her body.

Evangelista, now 58 years old, underwent full-body CoolSculpting in 2015 — an alternative to liposuction where fat cells are frozen in order to destroy them.

But shortly after the procedure she suffered a serious side-effect — medically-termed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) — where fat cells grow larger and form bulges.

This is suffered by less than one percent of patients, but when it does occur the shift in fat cells may be permanent and they cannot always be removed with liposuction.

In 2016, the star underwent a loborious and painful full-body liposuction procedure  to resolve the issue.

She then wore compression garments, girdles and a chin strap for eight weeks.

But the hard lumps returned in 2017.

‘It wasn’t even a little better,’ she said, reports People. ‘The bulges are protrusions. And they’re hard. If I walk without a girdle in a dress, I will have chafing to the point of almost bleeding. Because it’s not like soft fat rubbing, it’s like hard fat rubbing.’

Evangelista made several attempts to have the botched surgery repaired, but she said this was ultimately unsuccessful.

‘PAH has not only destroyed my livelihood, it has sent me into a cycle of deep depression,’ she said in 2021.

‘In the process, I have become a recluse.’

She filed a lawsuit against the firm behind CoolSculpting in 2021 for the destruction of her livelihood, saying she was not made aware of the potential side-effect. It was settled in July last year for a total of $50million.

Since going public, Evangelista — who was one of the most sought after models in the 90s — has been seen at several red carpet events looking much closer to her old self.

Despite the experience, she has also previously revealed that she is still happy to get botox for her forehead. She said: ‘I want wrinkles — but I Botox my forehead so I am a hypocrite — but I want to grow old.’

HAS BLAKE LIVELY HAD TWO NOSE JOBS?

The star is shown above in 2009 following her first nose job, whereby the bridge was made thinner

Blake Lively, shown in 2005 (left) and 2009 (right) has likely had at least two rhinoplasty procedures to change the shape of her nose, said Dr Motykie. The first saw the bridge of her nose and its tip reduced, but he said the nose may still have been too wide for her liking

The 36-year-old Gossip Girl superstar appears to have had her nose tweaked more than once, according to Dr Motykie.

His best guess is that she had her nose size reduced before joining Gossip Girl in 2007 and then again sometime in 2010 (below, right).

This likely led to a second nose job, he said, which saw the bridge of the nose narrowed further and the tip becoming more defined (Blake shown in 2022)

This likely led to a second nose job, he said, which saw the bridge of the nose narrowed further and the tip becoming more defined (Blake shown in 2022)

The first result was good, he says, but the bridge of her nose may have been slightly too wide for her liking.

‘Sometimes, actresses like to make more gradual, less noticeable changes to their appearance so that it is not obvious to the public.

‘Either way, Blake’s alleged finessed revision rhinoplasty appears to have narrowed and defined the tip and bridge of her nose.’

He added: ‘If Blake did do both of these surgeries, she didn’t over-alter herself or make herself look unrecognizable.

‘As with many celebrities, if Blake was not being photographed constantly, I doubt anyone would speculate or notice that she may have gone under the knife.’

Dr Motykie has also previously suggested Blake Lively had a swathe of other procedures

TRUMP’S WONKY SCALP OP TO RESTORE HIS HAIR

The Donald, pictured above in 2011, has likely had hair transplants to maintain the thickness of his hair

He is also pictured above in 2020, with a seemingly fuller head of hair - despite the clock rolling forward by another nine years

The Donald, pictured above in 2011 (left) and 2020, has likely been having hair transplants to maintain the thickness of his hair, Dr Motykie said. This was a touch-up to an earlier surgery he allegedly had to remove a bald area from the scalp

He makes no secret of his pride for his famous blonde hair.

But the former President has likely had scalp reduction surgery — which hasn’t proved to be much of a success, says Dr Motykie.

And it’s taken several hair transplants to cover up the mess, he adds.

Scalp reduction surgery aims to treat hair loss on the crown of the head.

It involves removing a bald area of the scalp during surgery, and then stretching the remaining skin with functioning follicles to cover the area.

The clues, Dr Motykie, are that Trump’s hair continues to thin — and reports from the book written by his former wife Ivana Trump that surgery to his scalp had left him with ‘nagging headaches’.

Dr Motykie says he’s had hair transplants in order to maintain its thickness.

This is when hair follicles are taken from other areas, such as the sides of the head, and transplanted into areas where hair is thinning.

He said: ‘Donald Trump denies ever having plastic surgery, but his ex-wife Ivana didn’t say the same thing.

‘Ivana spilled the secret that Donald may have undergone a scalp reduction surgery to improve his hairline and minimize areas of balding or thinning hair.

‘During this type of surgery, which is an older technique, a patient’s bald spot is surgically removed and the scalp is sutured back together.

‘Scalp reduction surgery has been abandoned for several different reasons today.

‘First of all, it is an invasive surgery that can leave patients with a large scar and hair re-oriented in strange, unnatural directions. Secondly, there are currently much better options for hair restoration, which produces a more natural result with minimal scarring.’

He added that he believes ‘Donald Trump may have tried a [hair transplant] at least one time to further improve his past surgical results because his hair has fluctuated in fullness over the years.’

BRITNEY’S TWEAKS TO FIX THE TIP OF HER NOSE

Britney Spears, pictured in 1999, went for a rhinoplasty early in her career, Dr Motykie suggested. She is shown here before the rhinoplasty

But the star (shown again in 2018) likely also had a second one, possibly after not being pleased by the results of the first

Britney Spears (pictured in 1999, left, and 2018, right) has likely had two nose jobs, Dr Motykie said. On the left she is shown before her first nose job, and on the right after her alleged second. Dr Motykie said work had focused on making the bridge of her nose narrower. In her secnd surgery, he said she had the tip of her nose reduced further to make it appear less bulbous

Dr Motykie said pop legend Britney Spears has likely had at least two operations on her nose — or rhinoplasty.

Britney is pictured above in 2001 shortly after her first alleged rhinoplasty. Her nose appeared to have be finessed with a narrower bridge to give it a less flared shape said Dr Motykie

Britney is pictured above in 2001 shortly after her first alleged rhinoplasty. Her nose appeared to have be finessed with a narrower bridge to give it a less flared shape said Dr Motykie

She had the first back in the early 2000s, he said, which ‘finessed’ the nose, narrowing it at the bridge to give it a thinner and less flared shape.

But Dr Motykie says this made the larger bulb on the end of her nose appear more bulbus, due to the contrast with the bridge.

In 2013 the shape of Britney’s nose changed for a second time, and she was seen sporting a thinner tip.

Dr Motykie told DailyMail.com: ‘When Britney was very young, she had a nose that was wider in the bridge and more bulbous in the tip.

‘[But] just a few years into her superstardom, we saw her nose… shrink, so she most likely underwent a finesse rhinoplasty to narrow the bridge of her nose and give it more tip definition.

‘Several years later, around 2013, it appears Britney underwent a second rhinoplasty to refine the tip of the nose a little bit further.’

Dr Motykie said it was relatively common for emerging stars to undergo rhinoplasty surgery early in their career.

‘[This is due to them beginning] to feel the pressure of their popularity and [starting to] spend time analyzing themselves and what types of tweaks might make them appear more photogenic and glamorous.
