Whether you’re sitting in an office chair for too long or slept the wrong way, occasional back pain is inevitable.

However, a massage therapist in Kentucky has shared a simple trick for avoiding a pain that affects more than 130 million Americans.

James Moore posted a video on Instagram last week where he stands in his doorway.

He holds on to the doorframe with both hands and crosses his right leg over his left.

He bends down far enough that his backside is just a foot or two off the ground.

Mr Moore advises his 3.1 million followers to hold the position for 10 seconds.

Some Instagram users praised the technique.

However, some Instagram users expressed doubt.

‘Not everyone has the strength to get their leg up and in that position to perform the stretch. However it could be done whilst seated on a chair, for example. I like your version though as you can go deeper if you’re able to,’ a user named glen_chevannes said.
