The ideal penis size, shape and pubic hair style most attractive to females, according to science

Doctors have revealed the penis size and shape that American women find most attractive and expect will perform well in bed. 

Confirming the stereotype that bigger is better, the findings, which comes from three studies in academic journals, show that women prefer larger, girthier penises. 

And make sure to keep that area trimmed – but not completely bald.

Men with well-groomed pubic hair are seen as ‘good in bed’ and better ‘pleasers’ than those who keep it unkempt.

Recent findings support the stereotype that bigger is better, as more men have sought cosmetic surgery for their penises

The findings come as more men opt for cosmetic surgery, from BBLs (the controversial butt lift procedure) to ‘Daddy Do-Overs.’ In fact, scientists report that one in 15 seek procedures to change the size and shape of their penis.

In the age of dating apps, it’s become more commonplace for men to send potential matches explicit photos of their penises.

A 2022 study published in the journal Sexuality & Culture examined how men and women judge penises of people they don’t know and what factors make them more attractive than others. 

The researchers recruited 106 college students, 80 percent of whom were women, from Texas A&M University – Commerce. 

Of that group, that majority (39 percent) were black, followed by 31 percent white. The vast majority, 87 percent, were heterosexual. 

The participants then reviewed 24 pictures of penises categorized by length, girth, and the amount of pubic hair. 

The penises were categorized from low girth to high girth and with lengths ranging from short to medium to long. It’s unclear if the penises were flaccid or erect.

Pubic hair was trimmed, untrimmed, or non-existent. Colors included blonde, black, brown, or red. 

They were asked to rate them on a scale of 1 (strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly agree) in terms of attractiveness and how ‘good in bed’ the man would be. 

Further, they were also asked to respond to how much of a ‘pillow princess’ or ‘pleaser’ the target appeared to be and how many sexual partners they had. 

The researchers said: ‘Penises which were wider, longer, and moderately hairy were perceived more positively in terms of personality and sexual appeal.’

This included them being seen as more attractive, with their targets being ‘good in bed’ and ‘pleasers.’ 

However, shorter and narrower penises were seen as less sexually attractive, with their targets being ‘pillow princesses’ and worse in bed. 

Those with long pubic hair were seen as less agreeable, less open to new experiences, most likely to have the smallest number of sexual partners compared to men with trimmed or no pubic hair. 

Men and women both viewed their partners’ and their own genitals positively on a scale from -3 (most negative) to +3 (most positive) 

Men with trimmed hair were seen as the most attractive and best in bed, meanwhile. 

However, other studies have shown that size doesn’t make men’s genitals more attractive or appealing. 

A 2023 study from the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology examined how men are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the appearence of their testicles.

‘Cosmetic surgical interventions in the male intimate area are not uncommon at the present time,’ the researchers wrote. 

‘According to figures from the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, operations on intimate areas in men make up 6.1 percent of all cosmetic surgical interventions; 4.0 percent of intimate treatments conducted in 2018 were interventions on the scrotum.’

For the most part, men and women viewed scrotums as unattractive. However, men considered the fourth option more appealing than women did 

In the study, 653 men and women filled out questionnaires rating four images of scrotums, pouches of skin that protect the testicles. These images were then modified eight times, resulting in nine photos of each scrotum. 

They were also asked how they felt about their own and their partners’ genitals, including women’s vulvas.

More than half of the group were women (56.7 percent), while 42.3 percent were men. The remainder were excluded due to identifying as non-binary. 

Of the women, 60 percent were in a long-term relationship, while 47 percent of the men were in a committed partnership.

Participants were also asked if they had watched pornography in the last six months, as they said that unrealistic body expectations in porn could be a reason men are opting for intimate plastic surgery. 

About 70 percent had consumed sexually explicit material in that timeframe.

The participants were asked to use a sliding scale from -3 (‘very unattractive’) to +3 (‘very attractive’) to rate all 36 images.

Both men and women had equally negative views of scrotums 1-3, while men viewed scrotum 4 ‘as significantly more attractive than did women.’

The researchers said: ‘We considered whether the variables of age, extraversion, openness to experience, and consumption of pornography influenced participants’ evaluations.’

‘We found no significant differences in evaluation of the aesthetic of scrotums in relation to any of these personality traits.’

‘Overall, almost none of the 36 images we showed participants was rated “attractive,”‘

‘Ultimately, it was barely possible to identify a “beautiful” scrotum; we must instead speak of the least ugly.’
