AC Milan vs Juventus – Serie A: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

One of the biggest fixtures in the Serie A calendar has arrived with AC Milan preparing to host Juventus in a match that could tell us a lot about both teams’ title credentials.

Milan spent the international break at the top of Serie A with a two-point lead over Inter, while Juventus are currently four points behind the leaders. A win for the Bianconeri would lift them right up to the two Milan sides, but a defeat could see them cut adrift for the time being.

Almost all the public discussion around Serie A currently centres on the betting scandal that has seen Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli receive a ban, but that will be set to one side when this match gets underway at San Siro in front of a huge crowd, with the match being sold out.

Here is all you need to know about this huge Serie A clash between Milan and Juventus.

There are a couple of pretty sizeable issues for Milan when it comes to team selection against Juventus. In the dramatic match against Genoa before the break, Mike Maignan was sent off and is suspended, while Theo Hernandez got a yellow card which means he misses one game.

With Marco Sportiello now also injured, they will have to turn to third-choice goalkeeper Antonio Mirante. To replace Hernandez, Stefano Pioli is expected to call on Alessandro Florenzi with no natural senior left-back elsewhere in the squad.

AC Milan predicted lineup vs Juventus (4-3-3): Mirante; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Florenzi; Musah, Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

As for Juventus, there was serious concern they would be without both Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa, but the former has managed to recover and is expected to start. Chiesa is only likely to make the bench, though.

Danilo is out with an injury he picked up while playing with Brazil, so Massimiliano Allegri may call on Daniele Rugani or change formation in an attempt to keep Milan guessing until the last minute.

Juventus predicted lineup vs AC Milan (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Rugani; McKennie, Miretti, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Vlahovic, Milik.

Both of these teams are expected to be in the title race as the Serie A campaign progresses and it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top at San Siro. Milan have to be favourites given they are four points ahead of Juventus, but the absence of Maignan and Hernandez will be felt.

For that reason, Juventus may feel they have a real chance to do something here, especially given they do not need to conserve any energy for midweek football, unlike Milan who have an eye on a clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Prediction: AC Milan 1-1 Juventus
