Atlanta United predicted lineup vs DC United – MLS

After Atlanta United’s 5-2 thumping of Inter Miami, Five Stripes head coach Gonzalo Pineda won’t want to make too many changes but may have to in his side’s midweek clash with DC United.

The lineup that Pineda put out against Miami was arguably their best XI possible, but a change or two could be made to give players a rest in the final stretch of the campaign. New signing Saba Lobjanidze came off the bench to provide two assists in the last 16 minutes of normal time, and Pineda may opt for him over the young Edwin Mosquera.

The Five Stripes will be full of confidence leading up to the clash at Audi Field, but how might their XI look on Wednesday night?

GK: Brad Guzan – Atlanta’s captain will get the expected start in goal as his passing range is key to how Pineda wants his team to play.

RB: Brooks Lennon – His impressive 2023 season only got better in the win over Miami, as he notched one goal and one assist in a stellar performance.

CB: Miles Robinson – Although Atlanta haven’t keep a ton of clean sheets this season, Robinson has been the glue in their backline.

CB: Luis Abram – The Peru international has looked much better in recent weeks when playing in a back-four.

LB: Caleb Wiley – The versatile youngster continues to impress at just 18-years-old and has locked down the left-back position as his own.

DM: Tristan Muyumba – Since joining Atlanta, Muyumba has re-energized the middle of the park and has made those who play alongside him look much improved.

DM: Matheus Rossetto – Rossetto appeared to have fallen down the pecking order before Muyumba’s arrival, and since then, he’s looked a completely different player for Atlanta.

RW: Saba Lobjanidze – The Georgia international has become an x-factor off the bench as his first touch against Miami was an assist to Giakoumakis, but does he get the nod over Edwin Mosquera?

AM: Thiago Almada – There really isn’t much to add here. Almada has proven himself as one of the best players in MLS in 2023 as he set a new single season record for assists (15) for the club vs Miami.

LW: Xande Silva – Like Muyumba, Silva has taken Atlanta’s attack to another level with his speed and dribbling and looks to already have the position his in just a handful of appearances.

ST: Giorgos Giakoumakis – ‘The Tank’ scored found the back of the net for the 14th time against the Herons (tied for the most in MLS) and will look to do more of the same vs DC United.
