Bayern Munich vs Heidenheim – Bundesliga: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Bayern Munich welcome newly-promoted Bundesliga debutants Heidenheim to the Allianz Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Despite some rocky moments this season, including their DFL Supercup hammering at the hands of RB Leipzig and their humiliating exit from the DFB Pokal to third tier Saarbrucken, Thomas Tuchel’s side still find themselves just two points off Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bavarians are hunting a 12th straight Meisterschale and will be hopeful of keeping pressure on Xabi Alonso’s table-toppers this weekend. Saturday’s visitors to Munich currently sit 13th in the German top flight, having managed some impressive results against the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Union Berlin and most recently high-flying Stuttgart.

Here is 90min’s preview of Bayern vs Heidenheim on Saturday in the Bundesliga.

Tuchel has a few injury concerns ahead of Heidenheim’s visit, the chief one being Jamal Musiala. The young German was substituted against Galatasaray in the Champions League midweek with a hamstring injury and will miss this weekend’s clash.

Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined with a knee injury with Dayot Upamecano thriving in his place, while young centre-back Tarek Buchmann remains out injured alongside former Borussia Dortmund man Raphael Guerreiro.

Joshua Kimmich is serving the second match of his two-game suspension following his red card in the 8-0 thrashing of Darmstadt, meaning Leon Goretzka and Konrad Laimer will be the duo in the centre of the park.

Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Heidenheim (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Mazraoui, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Goretzka, Laimer; Coman, Muller, Sane; Kane.

Young forward Elidon Qenaj is still out with a ACL injury for Heidenheim, while midfielder Thomas Keller is also sidelined with an ankle injury.

Striker Marvin Pieringer is a doubt for the visit to Bavaria after missing last weekend’s win over Stuttgart, but he could return depending on the outcome of a late fitness test.

Heidenheim predicted lineup vs Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Muller; Traore, Mainka, Gimber, Theuerkauf; Maloney, Schoppner; Dinkci, Beck, Beste; Kleindienst.

Despite some spirited performances from Heidenheim this season, including fighting back from two goals down to claim a point at Dortmund, Frank Schmidt’s side have little hope of getting a result at the Allianz.

Bayern have been in great goalscoring form of late, registering 12 in their last two Bundesliga matches, and should have no qualms dispatching Heidenheim at home this weekend.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-0 Heidenheim
