Braga vs Real Madrid – Champions League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Real Madrid continue their Champions League campaign on Tuesday night as they travel across the Iberian Peninsula to take on Braga.

Madrid have started with two wins from two amid their quest to reclaim their European crown. After stealing three points at home to Union Berlin on Matchday 1, the La Liga giants edged an entertaining bout in Naples last time out.

Their early success leaves them in a very strong position in Group C, while Braga secured an imperative victory in Berlin on Matchday 2 to offer them hope of potentially making the round of 16. However, the in-form Portuguese side will likely have to take points of Madrid if they are to advance at Napoli’s expense.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Real Madrid’s Champions League contest against Braga.

Braga will be without captain Ricardo Horta for Real Madrid‘s visit as he nurses a muscle injury. The crafty creator is hoping to return to action at the start of November.

Victor Gomez is also out of action with a thigh injury.

Former Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho is now plying his trade with the Portuguese club, although he’s only played a bit-part role at the start of 2023/24.

Braga predicted lineup vs Madrid (4-2-3-1): Matheus; Mendes, Fonte, Niakate, Borja; Zalazar, Al-Musrati; Djalo, Pizzi, Bruma; Banza.

The visitors should only be without their long-term absentees on Tuesday. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao are poised to miss the vast majority of the campaign with ACL injuries.

Arda Guler returned to training during the international break and could make Carlo Ancelotti’s matchday squad.

Eduardo Camavinga is also vying for a start with the boss potentially making a couple of changes from Saturday’s draw at Sevilla.

Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Braga (4-3-1-2): Kepa; Carvajal, Rudiger, Alaba, Camavinga; Tchouameni, Modric, Valverde; Bellingham; Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr.

The visitors had a little hiccup at the weekend by drawing in Seville, while Braga head into Tuesday’s game well-rested having played on Thursday. The hosts have also enjoyed a five-game win streak, so they’ll be confident of upsetting the odds.

A victory for Madrid and they’ll all but secure their place in the next phase, and while they’re undoubtedly the superior side, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see them drop points away from home. Braga could do with taking points off the Spanish side, and they might do enough to earn a point at home on Tuesday.

Prediction: Braga 1-1 Real Madrid
