Brighton vs Newcastle – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Two of the most exciting teams to watch in the Premier League do battle this weekend when Newcastle travel south to face Brighton.

Despite the positive narrative that exists around the fortunes of both sides, the Seagulls and Magpies both come into this match off the back of defeats. Newcastle threw away a lead from a position of strength against Liverpool, while Brighton were well-beaten at home by West Ham.

A top-four finish is the aim for both clubs, who each have European campaigns to navigate along with their league games this season.

Here is all you need to know about Brighton vs Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend.

Roberto De Zerbi is having a pretty decent time of it when it comes to injuries. The only major absence is Julio Enciso, who suffered a knee problem, while Jakub Moder is still recovering from a similar but long-term issue.

Brighton are on the verge of securing a sensational loan deal for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati but Saturday’s game may come too soon for the Spaniard to have any involvement.

Brighton predicted lineup vs Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Milner, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Gross, Gilmour; March, Pedro, Mitoma; Ferguson

There are a few more injury issues for Eddie Howe to worry about. The former Bournemouth boss will also have been given a headache by the late defeat to Liverpool last weekend when Newcastle had an extra player for most of the game but still lost 2-1 after two late Darwin Nunez goals.

Sven Botman is expected to miss out with an injury, while Lewis Hall is not fit enough to be involved. Joe Willock, Javier Manquillo and Emil Krafth are also sidelined.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Brighton (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Lascelles, Burn; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Barnes, Isak, Gordon

With so many talented players on the pitch and two forward-thinking coaches who let their attackers run free, there should be goals in this fixture.

The Newcastle attack has a point to prove after wasting so many chances against Liverpool and the same could be said for Brighton given they dominated the ball against West Ham and still ended up losing the game.

Expect goals, but the two sides may cancel each other out when push comes to shove.

Prediction: Brighton 2-2 Newcastle
