Manchester United visit Burnley on Saturday night in desperate need of a victory and a convincing performance after a hellish few weeks for manager Erik ten Hag.
The mood is grey at Old Trafford following a 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, having also started poorly in the Premier League with three defeats from their first five fixtures.
Standing in the Red Devils’ way is a Burnley side that picked up their first point of the season on Monday night against Nottingham Forest, having lost their first three games back in the top flight.

Lyle Foster’s red card in the draw with Nottingham Forest means he will be absent for the visit of Man Utd, while manager Vincent Kompany will also be without Michael Obafemi, Hjalmar Ekdal and Darko Churlinov.
Jordan Beyer is expected to make his return to the team but Vitinho’s fitness will be assessed beforehand.
Burnley predicted lineup vs Manchester United (4-2-3-1): Trafford; Roberts, Al-Dakhil, O’Shea, Taylor; Cullen, Brownhill; Zaroury, Ramsey, Koleosho; Amdouni
11 Man Utd players missed the trip to Munich on Wednesday but no players sustained any new blows. There’s also a chance for some returnees at Turf Moor, with Raphael Varane and Mason Mount both back in training.
Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo took part in individual sessions away from the rest of the squad, but Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo all have significant injuries while Harry Maguire may also not recover from his muscle issue.
Wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho remain unavailable due to off-field issues.
Manchester United predicted lineup vs Burnley (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Reguilon; Casemiro, McTominay; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
Neither of these teams have enjoyed an auspicious start to the season but with Man Utd potentially getting players like Varane and Mount back into the matchday squad, they still have to be viewed as the favourites, albeit narrowly.
Burnley have conceded the most goals of any team in the division with 12 despite playing a game fewer than all other sides bar Luton but have faced Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham in that run.
There were spells against all of Spurs, Arsenal and Bayern Munich when United looked good but they are yet to impress over a full 90 minutes. Rasmus Hojlund is off the mark now and there should be enough for United to squeeze a narrow win.
Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Manchester United
