Chelsea vs Man City – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Chelsea will look to build on the unusual victory they enjoyed against Tottenham on Monday when they host Premier League leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have been thrilled to win 4-1 away at then-unbeaten Spurs but it was hardly a game that provided an exact blueprint for success against a better side. Fans likely know just as little about this team now as they did before the victory.

Manchester City are favourites to take all three points here but must be wary of a Chelsea side filled with players capable of springing a surprise. Having retaken top spot in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola will not want to relinquish it.

Here’s all you need to know about Chelsea vs Man City in the Premier League this weekend.

Chelsea’s injury list is extensive with a number of good players unavailable against Man City. Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemeka and Marcus Bettinelli are all out of action.

Enzo Fernandez was taken off before the hour mark at Spurs and is hopeful of retaining his spot in the squad, while Armando Broja also has a chance of making it in time for City’s visit.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Manchester City (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; James, Disasi, Silva, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson.

There are a handful of fitness issues for manager Guardiola to work around this weekend. The headline absentee remains Kevin De Bruyne, who is not expected back this calendar year.

John Stones won’t feature after his most recent injury, while Manuel Akanji is also a doubt after he picked up a back issue before the match against Young Boys. Sergio Gomez is also absent.

Manchester City predicted lineup vs Chelsea (3-2-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Nunes, Rodri; Silva, Alvarez, Kovacic, Grealish; Haaland

Chelsea may well have been able to put four past Tottenham but were losing 1-0 and creating little before the game completely flipped. They eventually did what needed to be done against nine players, but this is a totally different test.

Man City will not allow this game to descend into chaos like that one did and should continue their amazing record against Chelsea with a comprehensive win that keeps them at the top of the table.

Prediction: Chelsea 0-3 Manchester City
