Host nation Germany discovered their opponents for the upcoming 2024 European Championships at the group-stage draw.
Julian Nagelsmann’s misfiring side begin the competition against Scotland at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena on 14 June 2024. Hungary, who held Germany to a 2-2 draw at Euro 2020, and host neighbours Switzerland complete an even Group A.
While Germany‘s place in the finals has been guaranteed since they were awarded the competition in 2018, their form in the friendlies leading up to the summer tournament has plummeted. Hansi Flick became the first German national team manager to ever get sacked in the history of the position in September 2023, forcing the DFB to hurriedly turn to 36-year-old Nagelsmann – who himself had recently been let go by Bayern Munich.

As has been the case for generations, the entire European Championships will be free-to-air for viewers in the United Kingdom. The BBC and ITV will once again split broadcasting rights for each fixture leading up to the final, which will be shown on both terrestrial channels simultaneously.
Outside of Europe, Canada’s coverage will be available in both English – via TSN – and French-Canadian courtesy of TVA Sports.
The United States will also broadcast the continental footballing jamboree on Fox Sports, FuboTV and TelevisaUnivision.
