FC Dallas force game three with 3-1 triumph over Seattle Sounders

FC Dallas avoided elimination from MLS Cup playoffs with a 3-1 victory over Seattle Sounders, leveling the series at one apiece and setting up a decisive game three at Lumen Field on November 10.

Just as it seemed like all hope was lost in the Dallas camp, they pull off a huge performance to keep their playoff hopes alive. Going into the contest, the home team were already down 1-0 in the series and were also without star Alan Velasco, who suffered a torn ACL in Dallas’ 2-0 game one defeat.

However, the Texan side were determined to show out for their supporters at Toyota Stadium, and they did just that as Paul Arriola kicked things off in the sixth minute to put Dallas ahead with a headed effort off a Bernard Kamungo cross.

12 minutes later, Jesus Ferreria got in on the act and slotted home a penalty kick to make it 2-0 to Dallas. Kamungo’s unreal story continues to unfold, as he set up the first goal with a perfect cross and won his side a penalty for the second.

Seattle talisman Jordan Morris got his team back in the game just after the second half restart, poaching the ball off Sebastien Ibeagha and firing home at the near post to pull his team within one.

Dallas substitute Jader Obrian pounced on a poor pass from Sounders defender Jackson Ragen to essentially seal the win, making it 3-1 in the 89th minute. It was a clinical finish from Obrian, and he helped ease the anxiety of the Dallas fans as the game stood a 2-1 scoreline for roughly 40 minutes.

Dallas can still dream of MLS Cup even without Velasco, while Seattle will be wondering what went wrong on the night. Game three is set for November 10 at Lumen Field, and the winner will advance to take on either LAFC or Vancouver Whitecaps in the second round of MLS Cup playoffs.
