FPL Gameweek 12 provides another wide open captaincy decision.

Erling Haaland travels to Chelsea, a side he is yet to score against in the Premier League, while other favourites Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min face clashes with Brentford and Wolves respectively.

So who should be considered the top picks? Here are the best captain selections for FPL Gameweek 12 powered by Fantasy Football Hub’s AI Points Predictions tool.

Erling Haaland

AI continues to stick by Erling Haaland for the captaincy through thick and thin.

It was a relief to see the Norwegian score a brace in the Champions League in midweek, having played just half of the 6-1 win against Bournemouth before being substituted with only one point. He remains top for both goals (11) and goal involvements (13) this campaign.

For those fantasy managers wishing to play the probabilities, captaining Haaland makes sense once again this weekend. He has scored six goals on the road this campaign with four big chances on goal in the last four gameweeks. Opponents Chelsea are without a clean sheet in their last four games.

Son Heung-min

An away trip for Spurs elevates Son Heung-min in the captaincy conversation due to his exemplary record on the road with 52 fantasy points and six goals so far. He has the recent form too, with two goals and one assist in the last four gameweeks. Only Mohamed Salah has outscored him for points this season.

One concern with captaining Son is he has never scored against Wolves in ten previous appearances, with just two assists in that time. However, Wolves’ only clean sheet of the season came in August and Son will fancy his chances of breaking his duck against the Wanderers as the striker in this Spurs side.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah continues to rank highly in the captaincy conversation given he has scored in every single home game this season. He has tallied six goals in five home appearances in this campaign and continues to deliver consistent attacking returns from the penalty spot.

Salah also has a sound record against Brentford, with two goals in three appearances against the Bees. His opponents could be without first choice goalkeeper Mark Flekken who was substituted at half-time against West Ham last weekend with a dead leg.
