It’s been a tough midweek for FPL owners of Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, who limped off in his side’s Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Chelsea on Tuesday night.

The former Everton star now heads into the weekend as a doubt for the second consecutive gameweek, with managers tasked with finding the best replacements before Thursday night’s deadline.

With the help of Fantasy Football Hub’s powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are the best Gordon replacements for FPL Gameweek 18.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen has scored ten Premier League goals this season, behind only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah. He has two strikes in the last four gameweeks and generally plays 90 minutes when he is fit to feature.

His underlying numbers are good too, with ten shots in this spell. It’s his away form which has been most notable this campaign, but West Ham will want to expose Man Utd’s defensive woes and provide a response to their pitiful Carabao Cup exit to Liverpool in midweek.

Cole Palmer

Cole Palmer could well be the FPL bargain of the season, with ten goal involvements from ten starts at an initial price tag of £5m. He’s been Chelsea’s shining light in recent games, with a hand in both of their goals against Sheffield United last weekend.

Wolves could be missing goalkeeper Jose Sa due to a shoulder injury which would boost Palmer’s prospects this gameweek. However, it must be noted that the former Manchester City midfielder has four yellow cards and a fifth in either of the next two games would result in a one-match suspension.

Dejan Kulusevski

Spurs have finally turned their dip in form around with two consecutive wins and face a kind schedule until early April. Winger Dejan Kulusevski was central to the win over Nottingham Forest last time out, bagging a goal and an assist.

He’s created five big chances in the last six gameweeks since playmaker James Maddison was sidelined with injury and threatens with his set-piece delivery. After combining at the City Ground, the link-up between Kulusevski and Richarlison could further thrive, with plenty of points shared between them.
