Fulham vs Tottenham – Carabao Cup: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction

Fulham host Tottenham in the second round of the 2023/24 Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

The Cottagers have picked up four points from their first three Premier League games of the season but recently lost star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to the riches of the Saudi Pro League and manager Marco Silva won’t be on the touchline here after picking up three yellow cards already.

Spurs look to be loving life under new manager Ange Postecoglou and will target progression into the third round here as they aim for a first trophy success since 2008.

Here’s what you need to know about the midweek fixture.

Fulham had Calvin Bassey sent off in their 2-2 draw at Arsenal. The summer signing should be replaced by Tim Ream, who is available again after receiving a straight red card in the defeat to Brentford.

The midfield three of Sasa Lukic, Joao Palhinha and Andreas Pereira that impressed at the Emirates may start again, possibly supporting a changed attack where Willian and Adama Traore could get starts. Former Chelsea winger Willian is, however, a fitness doubt.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Tottenham (4-3-3): Leno; Tete, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Lukic, Palhinha, Pereira; Willian, Jimenez, Traore.

James Maddison, Richarlison

Ange Postecoglou has enjoyed a successful opening as Spurs manager, picking up two wins from three games, but a few tweaks could be made to his starting XI in the Carabao Cup second round.

There could be rotation in both full-back positions with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies available in reserve, while Giovani Lo Celso could replace James Maddison in the number ten role.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Emerson, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies; Skipp, Bissouma; Solomon, Lo Celso, Son; Richarlison.

Fulham have had a mixed bag of results to start the 2023/24 season, registering a draw, loss and win in their first three games. Their perseverance in both attack and defence against the Gunners was admirable, going ahead early on before snatching a late point through Palhinha.

Spurs have enjoyed a style change under their new boss thus far but early cup exits have been a trademark for the north London club in recent seasons. A strong team selection may see the visitors pick up the victory and progress past the Cottagers and into the third round.

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Tottenham
