Inter Miami vs Toronto FC- MLS: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

Inter Miami will host Toronto FC on Wednesday night at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as the fight for a playoff spot continues.

The Herons face Toronto, the only team in the Eastern Conference with fewer points than Inter Miami at 22 in 28 games. The Canadian side sits in last, while Miami are in 14th place just seven points shy of a playoff position.

But the game will not be easy, as head coach Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino confirmed Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba’s availability for the match will continue to be analyzed given the team’s busy schedule. The Herons take on Toronto on Wednesday, Orlando City on Sunday and the Houston Dynamo next week in the US Open Cup final.

And with a playoff spot on the line, every game counts. Martino must opt for the strongest starting 11 possible after falling 5-2 to Atlanta United on Saturday and closing in on their margin of error.

The Herons will likely be without Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba once again. Head coach Gerardo ‘tata’ Martino confirmed the two former FC Barcelona players trained with the squad, but will continue to be analyzed ahead of Wednesday’s match given the team’s busy schedule. Diego Gomez also remains unavailable, after picking up an injury while on international duty with Paraguay.

Otherwise, the Herons are expected to go out in full force against Toronto FC with Leo Campana likely to earn the start over Josef Martinez.

Inter Miami predicted lineup (4-3-3): Callendar; Yedlin, Aviles, Miller, Allen; Arroyo, Busquets, Cremaschi; Taylor, Campana, Farias.

Inter Miami may be without Messi and Alba again, but Toronto continues to be the weaker side. The Canadian side remains the only team to below Inter Miami on the Eastern Conference table, sitting in last place with just 22 points in 28 games.

But still, it’ll be another test for the Herons to prove they can do it without their star summer signings.

Prediction: Inter Miami 2-1 Toronto FC
