Jude Bellingham name-dropped Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele when quizzed on how he would improve his own game.
Bellingham has wowed crowds in Spain since his summer move to Real Madrid, scoring ten goals in his first ten games for Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Two of those strikes came in Saturday’s 4-0 thumping of Osasuna, with Vinicius Junior and Joselu also on the scoresheet.
The England international can seem to do no wrong – his output in the final third compares favourably with Cristiano Ronaldo’s start at Madrid – but the former Birmingham midfielder still thinks there are some areas for improvement from a personal perspective.
When asked by England Football what part of his game he would improve, Bellingham replied: “I would love to be naturally both-footed. I really like seeing players like Ousmane Dembele and other players who can take corners from both sides and things like that.”
Bellingham is a predominantly right-footed player, though two of his eight La Liga goals so far this season have been struck with his left.
Dembele also left Borussia Dortmund for La Liga, though opted for Barcelona back in 2017 where he often impressed but frequently struggled with injuries. The France international looked to have established himself in Xavi’s favoured starting XI before a surprising summer transfer to PSG.
Bellingham also elaborated on his adoration of Zinedine Zidane, naming the Madrid and France legend as the one player in the history of world football he’d like play with.
He added: “Zinedine Zidane. I would just give him the ball all the time and let him do what he wants. He was a little bit before my time but playing midfield growing up, that’s all anyone talked about. People would say ‘you have to watch Zidane, you have to watch Zidane’. Since then I have watched loads of footage of him and every time I am blown away.”
