Le Havre vs PSG – Ligue 1: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

After escaping with a dramatic late point against Newcastle in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain return to Ligue 1 action on Sunday as they visit Le Havre.

Kylian Mbappe’s late penalty on Tuesday night means PSG will enter the final matchday with their fate in their own hands, but Luis Enrique’s attentions must now shift to the domestic front.

PSG will take on a resilient Le Havre side that have returned to the top flight for the first time in over a decade. Sunday’s hosts sit eighth in the table having drawn over 50% of their league games so far, while PSG enter the bout top of the tree having won their last six Ligue 1 outings.

Here’s 90min’s preview of PSG’s clash against Le Havre.

Luka Elsner has no injury concerns as he prepares for the team’s first competitive meeting with the perennial French champions since 2009.

His humble outfit are bereft of star quality, with their most recognisable player, Andre Ayew, suspended for Sunday’s game after he received his marching orders in last weekend’s stalemate with Nantes.

Le Havre predicted lineup vs PSG (4-4-1-1): Desmas; Sangante, Kinkoue, Lloris, Operi; Nego, Kuzyayev, Toure, Joujou; Alioui; Logbo.

With Marquinhos likely to miss out again, Enrique has a decision to make whether he deploys Danilo Pereira or Lucas Hernandez alongside Milan Skriniar. Presnel Kimpembe is also nearing his return from a long-term Achilles injury.

Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaire-Emery will both return in the new year, while backup goalkeepers Sergio Rico and Keylor Navas are out of action.

Goncalo Ramos will be vying for a return to the starting XI, while Marco Asensio could also come into the team.

PSG predicted lineup vs Le Havre (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Skriniar, Hernandez, Mukiele; Ugarte, Fabian, Vitinha; Asensio; Ramos, Mbappe.

Le Havre have drawn four of their last five games 0-0, although the underlying figures suggest they’re rather fortunate to have only conceded eight open play goals this season. Their expected open play goals against is 14.83 – the biggest defensive over-performance in Ligue 1.

While PSG were woefully wasteful in the week, they’ve generally been efficient in front of goal this season and with Kylian Mbappe in red-hot form, they could cash in some of Tuesday’s xG on Sunday.

The hosts could frustrate the visitors for periods, but there will only be one winner if Enrique’s men score the first goal.

Prediction: Le Havre 0-3 PSG
